ApplicationsareinvitedforfillingupofthevacancyforthepostofDirector,oneeach,in
National Institute of Technology located at Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Meghalaya, Mizoram,
Puducherry, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Bhopal, Silchar, Srinagar, Hamirpur and Surathkal in the
gradeofRs.75,000/(fixed)plusSpecialAllowanceofRs.5000/p.m.asapplicabletotheVice
Chancellor of Central Universities as admissible under the rules. Director of an NIT being the
academic as well as administrative head is expected to have proven administrative, teaching
and research background (including significant experience in research guidance at the Ph.D
level)withleadershipqualities.Theappointmentshallbemadeoncontractbasisforatermof
fiveyearsortilltheattainmentoftheageof70years,whicheverisearlier.

AGE:

Thecandidateapplyingforthepostshouldpreferablybebelow65yearsofageatthe
timeofapplying.
3.

QUALIFICATIONANDEXPERIENCE:

Ph.D. Degree with first class degree at Bachelors and Masters level in Engineering /
Technology. In case of candidates who have obtained Ph.D. directly after B.E. / B.Tech., they
shouldhaveobtained1stclassatBachelorslevelinEngineering/Technology.Inaddition,the
candidate shall be an eminent person in his / her field of specialization with an outstanding
academic record throughout. The candidate shall have 15 years experience in teaching /
Industry / Research out of which 10 years must be at the level of Professor or above in a
reputededucationalInstitute,Industry,ResearchOrganisations.
4.
NationalInstitutesofTechnology(NITs)areautonomousInstitutionsfullyfundedbythe
Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The Director will be
appointed after obtaining the approval of the Competent Authority, based on the
recommendations made by the Selection Committee. The Selection Committee will consider
applicationsreceivedinresponsetothisadvertisement.
5.
