Homework/ProjectsPolicy&Expectations
InorderforstudentstobesuccessfulinthisEnglishLanguageArtscourse,theymustcompleteall
homework/projectsasassigned.Thepurposeofhomework/projectsistoreviewpreviouslylearnedconcepts
andtopracticenewlylearnedskills.Homeworkassignmentswillbebriefandshouldnotrequiremorethan
1520minutestocomplete.Homeworkwillbeassignedatleast23nightsperweek.Projectswillbegiven
extendedtimetocompleteandwillusuallybesubmittedthroughgoogleclassroom.Iusuallydonotassign
homeworkovertheweekendunlessrequiredtostayontrackwiththepacingguide.Latehomework/projects
willNOTbeaccepted.Ifthestudentisabsent,he/shewillhave3daystoturninthemissingwork.Students

thatleavehomeworkathome,inlockersormisplacehomeworkwillnotbeallowedtoturninhomeworkthe

MakeupWorkandLateWorkPolicies
Studentsareexpectedtocompleteallassignmentsintheirentiretyandinatimelymanner.Whenstudents

informationfromaclassmatesagendaandasktheteacherfordirectionsorassistancewithcompletingthe

AcademicDishonesty
Studentswhoarefoundtobeacademicallydishonest(whichincludesbutisnotlimitedto:cheating,
copying,stealing,orplagiarizing)willbeissuedastepontheWMSPBISStepcycle.Dependingonthe
circumstances,studentsmaybegivenachancetoredotheassignmentorcompleteanalternateassignment.
Theteacherreservestherighttoassignazeroforextremecasesofacademicdishonesty.

CorrectionsPolicy
Theprocessofreviewingwork,identifyingerrors,andcorrectingmistakesisanintegralpartofsuccessin
theclassroom.Allquizzescanbecorrectedforhalfcreditbackoneachquestion.Allunittestscorrections
willbeacceptedonlyforgradeslessthan70%forhalfcreditbackoneachquestion.Inorderforpointstobe
addedforcorrections,thestudentmustgivethecorrectanswerandwriteasentenceexplainingtheerroror
misconceptionthatwasmade.Allcorrectionsshouldbemadeonaseparatesheetofnotebookpaper,signed
byaparent/guardianandattachedtotheoriginalquiz,testorassignment.

TutoringwillbeavailableonThursdaysfrom2:153:00pm.Yourchildiswelcometostay,asneeded.All
studentsshouldbepickedupnolaterthan3:10.Ifanindividualstudentrequiresadditionalsupportina
