SHOES

While shopping in a mall I found something very attractive. The shopkeeper even
started branding the product i.e. SHOES which are comfortable to be worn on feet
and also protects our feet.

A shoe is not merely a fashion accessory, it is an integral part of your body

language as the former determines how you walk.

Whether your workout involves running, walking, sports or gym equipment, a

decent sport shoe is a must.

Various steps involved in its manufacturing are:1. Branding or Show Room Service:- The primary challenge of publicising is to
articulate a strategy that would reinforce everything that people love about the
brand and maintain its phenomenal, deeply personal appeal. The new strategy and
experience is to give a detailed information of the product to scale across many
sites, and adaptable enough to allow individual stores to reflect the identities of
their specific locations.
2. Shipment:- Once you have completed the picking or selsction stage, then you can
move forward to the shipping stage. Keeping in mind that you only need to
complete the shipping stage if it is required by your environment. Shipping is
mostly required when you order your products from various online shopping sites.
If you do not require a separate shipping step, then use direct processing to ship or
just take the product by yourself and go.
3. Inspection:-All finished products are inspected and checked pair by pair for
defects according to common aspects like shoe size, shoe surface, the height of
theshoe, heel pad, shoe lace and shoe outsole. It is an act of monitoring or
observing, (usually involving sampling and related sampling plans), a process,
procedure, or service to ensure compliance with the operational definition and to
insure that all customer requirements or internal prerequisites are met.
4. Warehousing:- The primary objective of warehousing is Implementing new
procedures and new technologies in market to save time and effort. It is necessary
to:5. Optimise warehouse storage area
6. Use space efficiently
7. Allow for the most efficient material handling.

8. Provide the most economical storage in relation to costs of equipment, use of

space, damage to material, handling labor and operational safety.
9. Provide maximum flexibility in order to meet changing storage and handling
requirements.
5. Testing And Packaging:- Testing the materials and components that make up the
finished product, as well as evaluation of the complete shoe, helps reduce returns,
improve quality and enhance customer loyalty and satisfaction. Manufacturers can
test their materials using procedures developed by the Shoe and Allied Trades
Research Association (SATRA), which provides devices designed to test each
element of the shoe. Once the shoe is complete, an inspector at the factory checks for
defects such as poor lasting, incomplete cement bonding, and stitching errors.
Attractive packaging can help in attracting people more towards the product.

6. Finishing:- Oil and dirt which attached themselves during the manufacturing
process are washed off, and the shoe is polished with cream. After this, the insole is
put in, and we finish by attaching the laces. Finally, the shoes undergo a rigorous
check. Fancy decorative beads can also be added if required in this stage.
7. Lasting:- Here the shoe begins to take shape as the operative pulls the upper over
toe using the lasting machine before being side lasted by hand.
8. Stitching:- Here various machines are used for stitching depending upon the
complexity of shoe design.
9. Machining Department:- Here components pieces are sewn together by highly
skilled machinists as to produce a completed upper. Various edge treatments are done
onto leather for giving attractive look to finished upper. Heat, moisture, force are used
to confirm shape of chosen last.
10. Eyelit Insertion:- Here holes are being punched. Punching of holes is done in
order to accomodate laces in finished shoes.
11. Assembling of Various Parts:- Various parts like sole, strap, laces,Inside, outside,
midsole. The various parts of shoes which got attached to each other are tongue,
eyelets, laces, outsole and vamp.
12. Sewing, Making and Chain Stitching:- Welt sewing process of stiching a
welt(strip of leather). The sole are stiched to welt.Goodyear welting allows sole to be
removed for repair without affecting the upper. It affects the outer performance.
13. Upper Cutting:- Using metal strip knife, worker cuts out pieces of various

shapes that forms "upper" .High skill is required because expensive leather has to be
wasted at minimum level. Avoid barbed wire scrates and other minor defects in
leather,
14. Clicking:- Top part of the shoe or "upper" is made. Shoe upper and lining are cut
here. Highely skilled operative are required. These operatives are responsible for
examinng the leather for any defects, scars or growth masks before each pair is cut by
hand.
15. Adhesive Adding:- The adhesive like EVA (Ethylene vinyl acetate) foam midsole
material offers good cushioning and compression set.
16. Raw Materials Selection and Mixing:- Raw materials like leather, textile,
synthetics, rubber, form and plastic are selected, added and mixed together.
17. Design Departmnet:- The design team makes the design of the shoe according to
the costumer requirements, comfort and proper specifications.
18. R & D Team:- The R & D team do the detailed analysis of footwear according to
the feet size, comfort, shape, design and durability. It also satisfies the purpose (like
trekking shoes, formal shoes or casual shoes)of the customers.
19. Demands and requirements from the customer:- The customers demands are
increasing with their growing needs and deeds. They search for various patterns, rich
leather quality, silky mesh oe hightech synthesis and long lasting operation. With their
increasing requirements its demand in the market also increases.
