ABSTRACT
PT. Bumi Karunia Pertiwi is a national private company, that engaged in
coal mining which located in the Panaen Village, Teweh East District, North
Barito Regency in Central Kalimantan with an IUP is 4,170 Hectare.
At PT. Bumi Karunia Pertiwi, the slope angle using a single 70 degree and
the stripping ratio is 1 : 8.5. Acquisition of the 903,843 MT of coal and cover the
soil volume is 7,709,780. The overall pit slope in pit 1A is 54.85 degree and pit
1B is 52.6 degree. With the magnitude of the overall slope angle many avalanches
occurred on the bench slope not complying with the recommendation
geotechnical. Therefore, this study used face angle 55 degree as recommended by
the geotechnical engineer with the provisions of its stripping ratio does not exceed
1 : 9.
The results calculation of coal reserves using the cross section with the face
angle 55 degree get tonnage 970,003.45 MT of coal and 8,456,008.75 BCM of
overburden, so the stripping ratio is 1: 8.72. The Overall slope angle in pit 1A
becomes 43.8 degree and 1B is 43.5 degree. Value stripping ratio is still worth
mined, because the specified maximum stripping ratio of the company is 1 : 9. So,
after the face angle changed to 55 degree, the volume of overburden becomes
increasingly and the stripping ratio (SR) from 1 : 8.5 to 1 : 8.72. Increasingly
steep angle of face value, the smaller the value of its stripping ratio, but the effect
on the bench slope become unsafe to avalanches. Conversely, the slope angle of
his face then his value greater stripping ratio, but the slope bench is safety.
