Welcome to Fifth Grade!!!

We hope you have had a fantastic summer break! We are ecstatic to have you in our
classes, and look forward to meeting you in September! Fifth grade is a fun and challenging
year, and just as in 4th grade, you will switch classes. Math, Social Studies, and Science will be
with Mr. Collins. The other half of the day will be in Mrs. Heckers room (202), where she
teaches Language Arts.
Here is a list of items we ask you can bring with you to school:
1- 1 inch Binder with folders and tabs (for class notes, HW, and papers that need to go home)
4- Marble composition notebooks
1- Book cover (Extra Large Book Sox work very well)
1- Folder for Spanish Class
2- Packs of 3x5 lined Index Cards
1- Pack of sticky notes (post-its)
1- Pencil box or pouch
1 of each-pink, yellow, orange, green highlighters
3-4 Dry Erase Markers (over the course of the year) and eraser (or a clean sock)
Pack of 20 or 25 Clear Sheet Protectors (check the Target Dollar Section)
Erasers, Hand-held pencil sharpener, and a pack of pencils if you can.
We are excited for a new school year to begin, and to meet all of you on September 8th.
Please bring in to school with you something to share with the class that has something to do
with your summer. Possibly a souvenir from vacation, pictures, etc.
