NOTES;
a) The design of the traffic control zones and the placement of warning signs is based as per REAM's
"Seminar on Road Safety Audit & Traffic Management During Construction, June 2008",
- design criteria is based on rural road classification for low speed profile (<70kph),
b) All signs faces shall be Fluorescent Orange Prismatic retro-reflective sheeting (background) and
High Intensity Prismatic retro-reflective sheeting (others),
c) Plastic barrier should be continuos along construction area and shall also in filled with water or sand
to restraint arrant vehicles from "punching through" and crash into the work zone,
d) Concrete barrier should be used at areas which involve excavation works of more than 1 meter
in depth,
e) Blinkers to be placed 5 meter interval at taper and 30 meter interval at straight stretch,
f) Delineator strings or blinkers are placed at all approach to and along the construction area,
g) Access to work site - Flagman required if the construction vehicle enter or exit the working area
h) For night works, the contractor shall install a flood light at the construction area
