Purpose of Assignment
To increase the students awareness of end of life issues and critically reflect on the
presentation in the media.
Student Approach to Assignment
The focus of this assignment was to examine end of life issues that are seen in the media.
For this assignment, I was able to analyze the movie to further discuss common end of
life issues while using my clinical experience to support my position.
Reason for Inclusion of this Assignment in the Portfolio
This assignment was included in my portfolio because I think that gaining an adequate
understanding of palliative care can be beneficial in helping me provide adequate patient
and family care while comprehending the essential purpose of palliative care.

discipline using a variety of media in a variety of context.
The death and dying in the media assignment allowed us to explore end of life
issues that are presented in the media. I was able to communicate the
importance of comfort and support during end of life care by analyzing a
movie and using clinical experience to support my statements. The paper is
written to inform health care professionals as well as family members about
end of life care.
