Peer Editing Research Portfolios

Directions: After getting your peer-editing partner approved by the

teacher, ask your editor to answer the following questions as
thoughtfully as he/she can. Remember that after you have gotten
approval, your site must be shared with your editor so he/she can
review your portfolio. Your editor may make comments on your site
but these should be cleared *if you have resolved them * by the time
you have finished your portfolio. The questions below are to help you
and your partner get the most out of peer editing. Show me that
someone has peer edited your site for a homework grade (if
you dont show it to me it will be a zero).
1. Are all of the tabs completed? Are all tabs cleared of resolved
comments? Has the author resolved all of the comments brought
up in the comments?

2. Does each notes tab have a source that is easily referenced

(URL/ book title and authors name)?
3. Does the rough draft meet all of the criteria? (Proper
introduction, thesis, topic sentences, and 2+ quotes/examples
per topic sentence)

4. Write the authors thesis below. Is the writers thesis an

argument that needs to be proven?

5. Write each topic sentence below. Is each topic sentence an

argument that needs to be proven? Does it relate to/help prove
the thesis?

6. Is each topic sentence supported by 2+ relevant events/quotes

or are the quotes/events seemingly random?

7. In reading the writers paper, does the writing make sense?

Could any of it be said in a way that would be clearer or more
understandable?

8. Do you understand the writers topic?

9. Is there enough information for you to be convinced of his/her

argument? Why or why not?
