GreenPark System
GreenPark Overview
As cars are parked within an underground parking structure, carbon monoxide (CO) and other exhaust
fumes are emitted into the atmosphere. There is a need for an efficient ventilation system that can remove
these toxins, circulate fresh air into the garage, and assist firefighters in the case of a fire emergency. There
are two options for this task, ducted or ductless ventilation.
While ducted ventilation has been the standard for many years, innovation in the field of ventilation has
shifted the conventional ventilation system towards ductless designs.
The solution is Greenhecks GreenPark system!
What is GreenPark?
Lower Construction Costs: Jet fans have less height than ducts which means less excavation and
lower overall construction costs.
Lower Installation Cost: Less ductwork means less installation time and lower cost.
Reduced Maintenance: Expensive duct cleaning is completely eliminated and the jet fans are more
accessible for maintenance than traditional systems.
Improved Operational Costs: No ducts means less static pressure. Jet fans achieve a more efficient
result using less power than a constantly running ducted system. Additionally, when paired up with CO
sensors, the demand-based system only runs in the areas it needs to, providing additional operational
savings.
Enhanced Safety: Jet fans are more efficient at removing noxious fumes and clearing smoke. The faster
the smoke and fumes are exhausted means improved safety with the added benefit of minimizing the
damage caused to your building.
Design Partner
Greenheck knows that every underground car park has different requirements. This is due to varying
geometries, different building types, or conflicting regulatory agencies. That is why GreenPark is a fully
customized solution that will provide you the highest quality, most cost-effective solution for your region.
GreenPark dedicated engineers can work with you from the beginning stages of building design and assist
with decisions such as supply and exhaust shaft locations, fire zoning, and jet fan placement. As the
design continues, the GreenPark solution can include control sequencing, switching diagrams, and even
provide commissioning. The GreenPark team is ready to assist in order to provide you the system you need!

Typical Installation
Normal Operation
GreenJet technology draws air into one end of the fan and discharges it at a high velocity at the other end
in order to pass the air to the next GreenJet fan. These fans are arranged to direct the air to a main exhaust
fan that removes the air from the parking garage. Make-up air is then provided through the entrance and exit
ramps or through a dedicated supply fan. This process allows the fans to remove the contaminated air from
the parking garage without the use of costly and unsightly ductwork in the garage.
GreenJet fans can be used with CO sensors to increase the speed of the fan automatically as CO levels rise
within the space. This demand based fan control can save as much as 80 percent of rating costs compared
to traditional ducted systems.

Selection Process
The process for specifying and selecting the GreenJet fan is customized for our customers' needs. It is
important for our customers to work closely with their Greenheck representative to ensure the proper
selection of equipment. Although many parameters must be considered in the ventilation design for a parking
garage, Greenheck has developed a short list of items that the customer should consider during this design
process. With this information, a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis can be provided of the entire
parking structure showing the proposed location and final quantity and size of GreenJet fans required.
Design Considerations
Air changes per hour: Normal ventilation mode and emergency exhaust mode
Control strategy: CO extract, smoke only extract or both CO and smoke extract
Location of ramps, wall openings, fresh air and exhaust air vent shafts
GreenJet
The GreenJet series includes a range of fans to accommodate your needs for parking
garage ventilation. Available in both the unidirectional series (GJ-AU) and the reversible
series (GJ-AR). Both series come standard with inlet and outlet silencers, inlet guards,
mounting feet and aluminum die cast propellers and blades. The GJ-AU series features
a true airfoil design propeller which is designed to move high volumes
of air at a high efficiency in a smaller diameter fan. The GJ-AR series
features a 100% reversible, highly efficient, airfoil blade design.
The basic principles of a GreenJet fan are that it provides the right amount of ventilation in the right location
at the right time and the right price. GreenJet fans are used in conjunction with main exhaust fans and
sometimes supply air fans (when ramps, entrances, etc. are not sufficient to supply the fresh air). The
GreenJet fans are used to move the air to the intake of the main exhaust fans, which then move this air out of
the space.
Right Time
Right Price
The GreenJet fan does not require any expensive
ductwork or control dampers to be installed
within the ventilation system. This allows the fans
to operate more efficiently than the traditional
system and also eliminates the system loss of the
ductwork, further improving the efficiency of the
system.
Right Location
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is used to
locate the fans in the parking garage in order to
provide the ventilation at the right location in the
garage. This ensures that fans are located where
they are needed.
