Change of CCD (4-line CCD), SYS BD, SLG BD, Inverter Board,
Lens Unit and Harnesses

Overview
The CCD, has been changed due to a change of the CIS (Contact Image Sensor) located on the
CCD Board and change of the scanning light source from a Xenon Lamp to LED. As a result of
this change the SYS Board, SLG Board, Inverter Board, Lens unit and harnesses have also
been changed. The new-style CCD requires different Scan firmware. If the MFP firmware does
not match the type of CCD installed, the MFP will not operate correctly.

Required Firmware
On machines produced since April 2012, the CIS on the CCD Board has been changed from a 3line sensor to a 4-line sensor. Due to the change of CIS, the CCD Board, System Board and
SLG Board have also been changed. To support the new CIS, the System and Scanner firmware
have been changed. Please refer to the following chart:

Recovery Procedure
Update the scanner
firmware to version 160S01 with USB media
Update the scanner
firmware to version160S01N with the Download Jig.
This condition cannot be
corrected with the the usb
media.

NOTE: Installing the incorrect firmware version is not possible when using the Download Jig.

A colored dot has been attached to the position (shown below) on machines and can be
identified through the original glass.
