GCSO LAW ENFORCEMENT SUMMARY

On Wednesday, July 20, 2016, Deputy P. Baxley conducted a traffic stop on a white Ford truck
driven by Melanie Lynn Day (40) for an equipment violation on State Road 71 and Long
Avenue in Port Saint Joe. A drivers license check revealed Day was driving with a suspended
license with multiple suspensions. Day was placed under arrest and charged with Driving
while License Suspended and Revoked. She was transported to the Gulf County Detention
Facility (GCDF).
On Thursday, July 21, 2016, the Gulf County Sheriffs Office (GCSO) received an aggravated
assault complaint in the 8200 block of Highway 98 in St. Joe Beach. Deputy M. Manley
responded to conduct an investigation. The investigation revealed the complainant was driving
a friends vehicle and the friends former boyfriend followed them eventually blocking their
vehicle with his in a driveway. The complainant reported the former boyfriend reached into
the vehicle and observed what appeared to be the outline of a handgun under his clothes. The
complainant further reported he grabbed the keys to the vehicle and fled the area. Deputy
Manley continues to investigate to positively identify the former boyfriend.
On July 21, 2016, Deputy M. Garrett executed a transport order and travelled to a correctional
facility in Dothan, Alabama to transport an inmate back to Gulf County.
On July 21, 2016, Deputy P. Baxley arrested Kimberly Lynn Price (50) in the 400 block if S.
7th Street in Wewahitchka. Price was wanted on a Violation of Probation warrant out of Liberty
County. She was transported to the GCDF.
On July 21, 2016, Deputy C. Harvey responded to the GCSO in reference to a walk in theft
complaint that occurred in the 100 block of Reef Drive in Cape San Blas. The complainant
reported a 1HP Sta-Rite water pump had been stolen. Deputy Harvey continues to investigate.
On Friday, July 22, 2016, the GCSO received a violation of an injunction complaint in the 100
block of Woodmere Drive in the Honeyville area. Deputy G. Desrosier responded to conduct

an investigation. The investigation revealed Pamela Renee Griggs (34) violated an injunction
for protection. An arrest warrant has been applied for.
On July 22, 2016, the GCSO received a stolen medication complaint in the 300 block of N. 4th
Street in Wewahitchka. Deputy C. Smith responded to conduct an investigation. The
complainant reported approximately 100 Lortab were stolen from a lock box located inside
their residence. Deputy Smith continues to investigate.
On July 22, 2106, Deputy C. Smith assisted State Probation Officer Alcorn while a search was
conducted of a probationers residence located in the 100 block of S. Palm Street in Indian
Pass. The probationer Harold Dale Marshall Jr. (56) was found to be in possession several
firearms and ammunition which is a violation of his probation. Marshall was arrested and
charged with Violation of Probation. He was transported to the GCDF.
On Saturday, July 23, 2016, the GCSO received a theft complaint in the 500 block of Cape San
Blas Road in Cape San Blas. Deputy G. Desrosier responded to conduct an investigation. The
complainant reported a girls Huffy bicycle and a Toro 26 push lawnmower had been stolen
from their backyard. Deputy Desrosier continues to investigate.
On July 23, 2016, the GCSO received a residential burglary complaint in the 400 block of
Spruce Avenue in the Overstreet area. Deputy M. Layfield responded and conducted an
investigation. The complainant reported during the burglary several firearms were stolen along
with ammunition, generators, pressure washers and miscellaneous hand/power tools. The
investigation revealed the residence was a vacation home and had been unoccupied for over a
month. This case has been assigned to the GCSO Criminal Investigations Division (CID).
On July 23, 2016, the GCSO received a criminal mischief complaint that occurred in the Iola
Landing area in the northern area of Gulf County. Deputy M. Layfield responded to investigate
the complaint. The complainant Amanda Lynne Shisler (27) reported she had stayed the night
on a houseboat and when she returned the landing, she discovered her drivers side window
had been busted out. A records check revealed Shisler had an active warrant for her arrest out
of Washington County. She was arrested and transported to the GCDF. Deputy Layfield
continues to investigate the criminal mischief complaint.
On Sunday, July 24, 2016, Deputy C. Sanders assisted the Port Saint Joe Police Department
(PSJPD) in apprehending a wanted person Ezekial Trey Register III (30). Deputy Sanders,
PSJPD Sgt. R. Burch and Officer D. Graham arrived in the 300 block of Avenue E in Port Saint
Joe to arrest Register after receiving information he was at that location. When all officers
arrived Register immediately fled on foot. During the foot pursuit Sgt. Burch was able to catch
up to Register where he then began to physically resist arrest. After a lengthy physical struggle
with Register the officers were able to subdue him and placed him in handcuffs. A search of
his person incident to arrest revealed he was in possession of crack cocaine and drug
paraphernalia. Register was served with 15 arrest warrants that included numerous charges to
include: Resisting an Officer without Violence, Aggravating Fleeing and Eluding, Sale of a
Controlled Substance within 1000 feet of a Church, Possession of a Controlled Substance,
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Burglary of a Structure/Conveyance, Petit Theft,
Aggravated Battery, Criminal Mischief, Operating a Motor Vehicle while License Suspended
or Revoked, Accident Involving Damage to Vehicle/Property, Failure to Appear. In addition
to the arrest warrants Register was also charged with Resisting an Officer with Violence,

Possession of a Controlled Substance (Crack Cocaine) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.


He was transported to the GCDF.
