GODS NOT DEAD

(Movie Insights)

Gods not dead! Hes surely alive. Hes living on the inside, roaring like a dragon.
I believe this line from the song played at the end of the movie wrapped it all. The
message that the movie wanted to send to everyone after they watched the movie is that God is
really alive, not physically but within us. If I will to capsulate the songs line into one word, it is
FAITH. Faith is an intrinsic thing each of us has. If we have faith, therefore we can say that truly
Gods not dead. He is alive inside of us, burning and roaring like a dragon. It is up to us to stand
for that faith. Faith is a very powerful tool for us to live in this world without fear. Without fear
from people who persecute those who believe in the existence of God, without fear that we
might lose everything we have because of what we believe. This definitely is what the movie is
about. The main character stands to his belief that Gods not dead despite the fact that he will
stand against his professor and that his girlfriend might split up with him and lose everything he
has. But he did not fear, because of his faith. In Luke 7:50 Jesus said to the woman Your faith
have saved you; go in peace. Our faith is just like a building, if it has a good foundation and is
constructed well then it will stand still and resist all kinds of destructive efforts. If we have strong
faith, we will never be easily put down by any challenges that will be thrown into our lives.
This is a real challenge for every one of us to not just have faith but to live that faith. I
remembered the homily given by Fr. Agerio Paa yesterday at the Cathedral. The Gospel is
about the parable of the Good Samaritan; he challenged us to be like the Good Samaritan. He
even cited that we have two pillars in our Christian lives. First is to worship and the second one
is doing our social obligation. Worship includes going to the Church every Sunday, praying
every day and believing in the teachings of the Church. But it should not stop there. We have
our obligation not just to the Lord but also to other people. Our faith would be useless if there is
no work and vice versa. In the movie the guy have faith that God exists and he applied it in a
very complicated way. He expressed his faith and was able to affect and make other people
believe to what he believes. He had made them believe that Gods not Dead. His act was
evidence that he is a Good Samaritan himself.
Gods not Dead because I believe He is and He is living in me and within everyone who
faithfully believe in Him.
