AP EXAM: Tuesday, May 9th at 8:00 a.m.

SUPPLIES: ~ at least one 1.5 binder with 4 dividers: Notes, HW, Quizzes/Tests, AP Materials
~ 8 AAA batteries
~ notebook paper for HW
~ 100 notecards on a ring/spiral/case
* printer paper(white/colored)
* Kleenex or hand sanitizer
* expo markers/post-its
CALCULATOR: The TI 89 is the calculator I will use for instruction.
GRADES: Your grade will be based on the following categories:
Tests: 60%
Quizzes: 30%
Homework: 10%
You will be assigned practice problems DAILY. We will discuss the assignment from the previous
night daily. You must stay current with the homework in order to be successful! Writing
mathematical concepts and expressing them well are important skills necessary for your success in
higher math classes. Procedure and method are much more important than just producing an answer.

Quizzes may be given at any time. These will cover the material that is currently being studied in the
course. (The key to doing well on quizzes will be to stay up to date on the homework assignments!)

You will have 3 test grades each 6 weeks. If you are absent the day of a quiz or test, you should be
prepared to take it in class on the day you return. In addition, if you miss the review day, you will
still be expected to take the test on the test day.

At least one of the test grades may be determined from an online teacher-made or University of Houston
quiz.

UNIT SYLLABUS: You will be given a syllabus for each unit test which lists the work and dates for that
chapter. You will be responsible for following the syllabus and for turning in all the work.
MAKE-UP/LATE WORK: Use the Unit Syllabus to refer to the missed material/assignments. You will have
two days to catch up without penalty if you were absent. After two days it is considered late. Late work
receives a 30% deduction on the earned grade.
EXTRA CREDIT: Extra Credit is given or posted on Weebly periodically to enrich and further learning.
CLASS RULES: No one is allowed to interfere with another students learning or sense of self-worth.
ACADEMIC HONESTY: Cheating of any type will not be tolerated. You will lose my respect and trust in
you. Consequences will include, but are not limited to: receiving a zero on the activity, a letter drop in your
citizenship grade, or further disciplinary action by a principal. The copier and the source for the copier will
both receive consequences. When you sign your name to any paper, I consider it a pledge that you have done
the work and have also given it your best effort.
EDLINE: You may access Edline through the district website at www.risd.org
