Welcome Students,

Biochemistry is a required course for entering the Ohio State University College of Medicine. You have had
different courses with different topics emphasized, and some of you may have had your course a few years ago.
As such, we want to provide some material for you to make sure you are ready for the first week of medical
school. We have developed a readiness assessment which you may use to determine if you need to brush up a
bit. This assessment is ungraded and strictly for your assistance. It covers the list of topics below that you are
expected to have knowledge of from your undergraduate biochemistry course(s). The questions are also written
in the style that you will see on your examinations so it will be helpful to you in that way as well. You will not be
given a grade on this content but additional course material will be presented in the curriculum that assumes
you have this basic level of knowledge upon entering school. There will be a fair amount of biochemistry in the
first 5-6 weeks of the LeadServeInspire curriculum so it would be in your best interest to come prepared to Ohio
State.
