recently visited our website and indicated that you were interested in finding out more about our MSc in Advanced Food Safety. This innovative MSc programme has been designed to give students a clear understanding of the major themes of global food safety. The course is linked to the Institute for Global Food Safety, based at Queens University Belfast. This will give students access to leading researchers and world class facilities. I wish to pass on some details on the course which may be useful to you as potential applicants for 2016/17 entry - please see info below and attached. Please note that the English language entry requirements have now being lowered to be an IELTS* score of 6.0, with not less than 5.5 in any component. Course Overview Briefly, this one year taught MSc programme comprised of modules involving lectures, practical work and lab-based project work. In Semester 1 (Oct-December), modules will include Food Safety, Health and Disease; Advanced Food Bioanalysis; and Research Skills for the Biosciences. In Semester 2 (Feb-May) modules will include Agri-food Traceability and Fraud; Bio-entrepreneurship and Advanced Skills; and a Literature Review module. A triple module (June-September) will involve an extensive Research Project (June to September) is set aside totally for completion of the Research Project module). Typically in Semesters 1 and 2 there will be class contact time on each day with a range of continuous assessment tasks for completion - a
number of modules will also have assessment based on written
examinations.
