MB Manual Transmissions
Enhanced equipment productivity and reduced operating
costs are essential for todays medium-duty truck operators.
You evaluated all the available transmissions, even tried
most of them. But that was yesterday. Today theres an
increasingly popular transmission choice in North America.
Consider a manual transmission built by Mercedes-Benz.
This transmission gives distribution, food and beverage,
towing, pick-up and delivery, construction, emergency
and utility companies another option for enhanced vehicle
productivity. While your competitors are using old technology,
you have the opportunity to specify a Mercedes-Benz
medium-duty transmission.
Easy Shifting
The MBT520 and the MBT660 are fully-synchronized and
offer low shift effort through all gears by using double cone
synchronizers up to fourth gear. An intuitive six-speed gear
pattern with precision gating and self-centering ensures
worry-free shifting. A maintenance-free, hydraulically
actuated clutch system provides better pedal comfort.
Easier shifts make this the transmission drivers prefer.
Longer Life
Special sealed bearings are protected against debris and
are crucial for a long transmission life. Heat-treated gears
and shafts are designed to withstand the tough trucking
environment. This transmission works for you when you need it.
Lighter Weight
The lightweight aluminum alloy housing, with an integrated
bell housing, increases maximum payload.

Increased Fuel Efficiency

Our design reduces internal power losses so the engine
power is transmitted efficiently to the rear axle.

Power Take-off (PTO)

You also will find that the right-side standard six-bolt
PTO port is practical. The five oclock PTO location
avoids interference with the exhaust system. This cuttingedge transmission works with a variety of PTOs, offering
numerous torque and horsepower levels. (See chart below.)
