Definition

Afebrileseizureisaconvulsioninachildtriggeredbyafever.Suchconvulsionsoccur
withoutanyunderlyingbrainorspinalcordinfectionorotherneurologicalcause.According
tostudies,about35%ofotherwisehealthychildrenbetweentheagesof9monthsand5
yearswillhaveaseizurecausedbyafever.Toddlersaremostcommonlyaffected.Most
occurwellwithinthefirst24hoursofanillness,notnecessarilywhenthefeverishighest.

Aseizureorconvulsionisthevisiblesignofaproblemintheelectricalsystemthatcontrols
