ThroughmyexperiencewithEnglish2010,Ihavelearnedabouthowto
strengthenmywritingskills.Ithasbeenagreatexperienceformetowritemyown
papers,andtoeditotherstudentspapers.Ithastaughtmealotabouttheopinionsof
othersondifferentissuesandmyownopiniononmultipleissues.InthispaperIwould
liketogointodepthaboutcourseobjectives,mydecisionsImadetodiscusscertain
issuesandtopics,howIusedmypeerreviewstohelpmeandtohelpmypeers,
discusscommentsImadeonpeerreviewsandchangesIneededtomakeon
assignments,andmymultimediacomponentofmypaper.
CourseobjectivesthatIhadtheopportunitytolearnaboutinthisclasswerehow
towriteapaperinmultiplegenres,appropriatelyadaptstrategiesofargumentationfora
givenwritingsituation,appropriatelyadaptstyleanddesignforagivenwritingsituation,
approachreadingandresearchcriticallyandrhetorically,choosingappropriateresearch
strategiesforaparticularwritingtask,conceive,draft,andrevisemanykindsof
documents,andmanagetheseprocessesindependently,citesourcesappropriatelyfor
thewritingsituation,includingusinganacademicsystemofcitationwithahighdegree
ofproficiency,understandandrespondcriticallytoacivicconversationandbecomea
legitimateparticipantinthatconversation,workcollaborativelyonwritingtaskswith
otherwriters,andedittheirwritingsothatitcontainsaminimumofsurfaceerror.

ThedecisionsIhadtomakeontheissuesIgottotalkaboutwasoneofmy
favoritepartsoftheclass.IgottochoosetheissuesthatIfeltthemostopinionated
aboutandgottodomoreresearchaboutthem!ItwasreallycoolbecauseIgotto
combinewhatIwaslearninginotherclasseswiththisenglishclass.Inadiscussionin
mystudyofdisabilitiesclass,wetalkedabouttheprejudicespeoplewithdisabilities
faceonadailybasis.Igottoreadinginmytextbookaboutit,andsuddenlyunderstood
howpeoplewithdisabilitiesfacethesamekindsofprejudicesotherminoritiesface.It
wasagreatexperienceformetodoresearchabouttheissueandgettowriteaboutit.
Peerreviewswereanamazingexperience.IhadAydanLeighrevieweachofmy
papers,andIeditedhis.Hechosetheinterestingtopicofourrighttobeararms.His
papersweresointerestingformetoread!Ireallyenjoyedlearningfromhim.Imade
commentsthathelpedtheflowofhispaper,andgrammarissues.Itoldhimtheparts
thatIfoundinteresting,waystohelphisthesisstatement,andwaysitcouldbe
organizedtosoundalittlebetter.Hegavemesimilarcommentsonmypaperthatwere
veryhelpful.Peerreviewshelpedmetogetabetterscoreonmyfinalpaper,andfor
thatIamverygrateful!
Themultimediacomponentofmysecondpaperwasagreatexperiencetoput
together.AfterIhaddonealltheresearchonmyfirstpaperabouttheprejudicespeople
withdisabilitiesface,thesecondpaperIdidaslideshowwithresearch,andvideosof
realworldexperiencesofpeoplewithdisabilitiesgettingdiscriminatedagainst.The
multimediacomponentallowedmetoshowwhattrumphassaidaboutpeoplewith
disabilities,avideoabouthowthatmadepeoplewithdisabilitiesfeel,twovideosabout

peopleintheworkforcewithdisabilitiesandthediscriminationtheyface,andhowa
teachertreatedachildwithdisabilitiesinherclassroom.Ifeellikepeoplearemore
emotionallyconnectedtoanissuewhentheycanseevideosabouthowthisisaffecting
realpeople.
Inconclusion,IreallyenjoyedEnglish2010.Ithastaughtmealotabouthowto
writeeffectivepapersthatareinterestingtoanaudience.Ithastaughtmetoeditpapers
inahelpfulway,andtoacceptconstructivecriticismonpapers.Ithastaughtmeto
enjoyresearchingontopics,andlearningaboutotherpeople'stopicsandhearingtheir
opinions.Ithasbeenagreatsemester!

appealsoraudienceconsiderationinyourmajorassignments.
1. IusedapowerpointwithvideostoshowwhatIwasseeingthatwasmakingme
thinkthatpeoplewithdisabilitiesdontgetequallytreated.
2. MyaudiencewassupposetobeallAmericans.Thisisaproblemthroughout
America.
