This is a short video that I showed to my students that describes and defines demonstrates the
concepts of inferences and how we make inferences every day. The video is a great introduction
and summary of inferencing and how the skill that we all use can be used when we read as
well.

document. I created this document to use specifically for this vocabulary group and instruction.

These documents are examples of student work on both the Academic Terms PreTest and Post
Test. All of my students performed better on the Post Test and were encouraged to express their
ideas in more complete sentences and with a focus on grammar rules and word usage.

These are examples of individual scoring rubrics that were used to score the Pre and Post Tests
that were taken by individual students as part of this project. Individual result for this student
involved overall increase in literacy.

These documents communicate the data collected from the Academic Terms Pre Test and the
Academic Terms Post Test that my student group took both before and after vocabulary
instruction on the five academic terms identified. Overall improvement in literacy based on the
group rubric increased by .445 points on the rubric. Not what was hoped for in the target of .500
increase, but nothing to sneeze at. I am pleased with the overall improvement of the group.
