Some of the studies carried out on the use of information technology have been reviewed in the foregoing pages.
The details of the studies have been obtained from Library and Information Science Abstract (LISA) CD- Rom Data bases.

Gwenda (1987) carried out a survey of the use of information technology, as represented by ASLIBs member
covering library automation online, searching, video text, data base, software, packages facsimile, transmission,
electronic mail and CD-Roms.

Brophy (1988-89) surveyed the use of Information technology by senior Staff in UK Academic Libraries.

Barry (1989) explains the Hong Kong, Polytechnic Library has an automated library system using using ATLAS
Software he founded that the use of technological facilities has produced changes in the services organized and
staff of the library.

While Brophy (1989) describes the methodology and results of research projects conducted to investigate the use
of information technology in United Kingdom. Result are based on the responses of the 161 people who returned
usable questionnaire, interviews with Senior library staff at 4 academic institution and a more detailed study of the
use of made of Information Technology by librarian and deputy library Bristol Polytechnic Library, library
specific software package to enable senior managers to develop this skills in has short a time possible.

Babcock and others (1995) provides a survey of the use of technology in state and local Government organization

Based on the Finding a Few Suggestions are Made

Separate allocation if budget is necessary for the provision of IT based services.

Increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the IT based services a few more staff members with sufficient
technical qualification should be recruited.

Necessary arrangements are to be made to develop the IT Infrastructure in college Library.

Both the users and the Librarian should be encouraged to adopt and use of IT based services.

The present library staff may be deputed for higher studies and IT based trainings.

CONCLUSIONS
The Library has good collection development pertain to the medical subject, the librarian has holding MLISc
qualification. Library is well organized with DDC classification scheme and AACR-II cataloguing. Institution well
connected local area network for rendering the services to the user end during working hours. Library fully automated with

Some suggestions are drawn based on the survey result; Budget allocation for library should be separate and
earmarking for year plays important role in development of library. To enhance more e-content or e-alert services to the
user community few more e-resources or content services may be included in the library services, example IT based
services. Tuning of library professional to learn the IT plays a great role, each librarian could create a different role in
information explosion era.
