alongside Pano Zero Clients and Pano Remote, all deployed and managed via the Pano Controller
management servers console.
For VDI, Pano Virtual Client
subscriptions include both the
versatile Pano Virtual Client
software endpoint and the Pano
Controller and Pano Maestro
virtual appliances that help you
easily provision, secure, monitor,
and control your virtual desktops.
Communications between the
Pano Virtual Clients, virtual or
cloud desktops, and the Pano
Controller server is handled via
the Pano Direct Protocol, the
same highly efficient and secure protocol used by our Pano Zero Clients.
Pano Virtual Client helps you leverage your existing investments in desktop PCs to quickly and
cost-effectively deploy virtual and cloud desktops while still preparing you for a cost-effective and
easily managed migration to highly secure and cost-effective Pano Zero Clients.

Each Pano Virtual Client subscription includes:

Pano Virtual Client software endpoint, ready to run on Windows XP and 7 desktop PCs
Pano System for VDI bundled with the following components:

Pano Controller for VDI management server/console

Pano Direct Service installed into Windows in each virtual desktop

Pano Maestro front-end for managing scalable, fault-tolerant Pano Controller groups
Pano Controller for Cloud/Terminal Services licensed separately for cloud desktops
Maintenance for one year providing all software updates, along with continuing access to our
online Basic Support resources

Deploying the Pano System for VDI with Pano Virtual Clients requires the following infrastructure:

For VDI, Virtualization Platform one of the following:

VMware: vSphere 4.1-5.0 U1 and vCenter Server 4.1-5.0, or VMware View Enterprise or
Premier 4.6-5.0.1. Panos are certified as VMware Ready.

Microsoft: Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 with Hyper-V or Hyper-V Server 2008 R2,
and System Center Virtual Machine Manager.

Citrix: Citrix XenDesktop 5.5-5.6 with hypervisor: included XenServer, VMware vSphere
ESX/ESXi 4.1-5.0, Microsoft Hyper-V. For optional redundancy/scalability, add Citrix NetScaler
MPX/VPX 9.2 for load balancing. Panos are Citrix Ready Community Verified.
Microsoft Windows in DVMs for VDI Windows XP Professional (SP2 or SP3) 32-bit and Windows
7 32- or 64-bit (all editions) with Microsoft Virtual Desktop Access licenses.

Server Hardware for VDI a server with a Xeon Quad or Six Core CPU at 2.0 GHz or faster, is
recommended, with 1 GB or more RAM for each active desktop virtual machine. A separate
Windows PC workstation is also required to assist with setup and configuration.

Network Infrastructure 100 Mb/s or faster switched Ethernet LAN, DNS server required for Pano
Controller discovery, and Microsoft Active Directory for software deployment and user authentication.
