Nowadays, South Sumatera is becoming one of the most excellent province in

Indonesia. The natural resources especially its primary energy potency in South
Sumatera is a strong appeal for foreign investors to enhance regional economy
growth. It is supported by the strategic location of South Sumatera which lies in
between Java and Singapore which benefits economically.
South Sumatera is the energy barn. It has a great potency of natural resorurces.
Firstly we will discuss about the petroleum. The reserve of petroleum in South
Sumatera is about 404 millions barrels. One of the greatest exploitation site in
Indonesia is in South Sumatera, which is Pendopo. After the petroleum, South
Sumatera also posseses abundant of natural gas. The production of this last 4
years is about 2.247.124 MMSCF. This natural gas could be used for supplying
the power generator, plastic products, andd fertilizer. The next is coal. The
potency of coal in South Sumatera is known to be 85% of the total reserve which
is contained inside of the ground of South Sumatera or about 22,24 billions tons.
The locations are in Lahat, Muara Enim, Musi Banyuasin, Musi Rawas.
Besides, the oil palm and rubber plantation also supports the energy barn of
South Sumatera. South Sumatera has opened the oil palm plantation since 1981.
10.000 hectars of forest sectors are encroached by the oil palm plantation. In
South Sumatera, the area of rubber plantation is 662.686 ha. There are a lot of
this kind of plantation in Banyuasin, Muaraenim, dan Musi Banyuasin.
In addition to that, education system in South Sumatera is also something to be
proud of. It is because or beloved province achieves the Guiness World Record for
breaking the world record by having the most numerous participants in Math
Class at the same time and place. The number of the participants is 2.970
people. What an amazing! This shows that South Sumatera is as smart as the
other provinces. Another record is that The Free School and Health Care
Programs for The Society which is encouraged by our honorable Governor, Mr.
Alex Noerdin.
The tourist attraction is also fabulous! Firstly, we have The Great Ampera Bridge
and Musi River. Musi River is the longest river in Sumatera. The length is 750 km
and width 500 m. The Musi River has 8 branches, which are BLA BLA BLA BLA
BLA.
Ampera Bridge divides two area of Palembang city, Seberang Ilir and Seberang
Ulu. This bridge was built in 1962. It was named Jembatan Bung Karno after the
First President of Indonesia, Mr. Soekarno. The history lies along the bridge
construction. The people appreciated Mr.Soekarno for granting their wish to unite
Seberang Ilir and Seberang Ulu. Besides those, there is also Bedegung Waterfall
with the height 99 meters. It is located in Muara Enim. Then if we travel to Pagar
Alam, we will find Dempo Mount. It has the clear water resource so the climber
doesnt need to be worried for running out of water. Pagar Alam also has beautiful
tea plantation.
South Sumatera had ever become the host of Sea Games in 2011. For 3 years,
Sea Games was always held in Java Island. But because of the courage of our

beloved Governor, finally South Sumatera was appointed to carry out Sea Games
2011. The success of this leads our province to be trusted to organize the
upcoming spectacular event , ASIAN GAMES in 2018.
