Installing Alfresco on Windows 32-bit

(Enterprise Trial only)
ThesetupwizardforMicrosoftWindowsinstallsallthesoftwareandcomponentsthatyourequireforrunning
AlfrescoonaWindows32bitsystem.ThissetupwizardinstallsAlfrescoandadditionalsoftware,includingaTomcat
applicationserver,PostgreSQLdatabase,JDK,andLibreOffice.
1.DownloadtheEnterpriseTrialsetupwizardfilefromwww.alfresco.com(www.alfresco.com):
alfrescooneinstaller201603winx32.exe
FilesareavailablefromtheSupportPortal(http://support.alfresco.com/).
Thefileisfor32bitWindowssystemsonly.
2.Doubleclickthedownloadedfile.
3.Selectthelanguagethatyouwishtousefortheinstallation.
Thissetsthelanguagetobeusedforthesetupwizard.
4.OntheSetupAlfrescoOnewindow,clickNext.
5.OntheInstallationtypewindow,choosehowyouwanttousethesetupwizard.
Therearetwotypesofinstallationinthesetupwizard:

Easy

EasytypeinstallsAlfrescousingthedefaultoptionsandconfiguration.Thisinstalltyperequires
onlytwofields:installlocationandadministratorpassword.ChoosethisroutetoinstallAlfresco
withthedefaultenvironment.
Note:IfyouhavepreviouslyinstalledAlfrescoandtheserverisrunning,whenyourunthissetup
wizardagain,youmightbepromptedtoenteralternativeportnumbersforthecomponentsand
servicesthatyouinstall,forexample,fortheTomcatapplicationserver,FTPport,andtheRMI
port.

Advanced AdvancedtypeinstallsAlfrescobutletsyouconfiguretheserverportsandserviceproperties.
Youcanalsochoosewhichadditionalcomponentstoinstall.
TocompletetheEasysetupwizard:
a.SelectEasy,andthenclickNext.
b.OntheInstallationFolderwindow,clickNexttoacceptthedefaultlocation.
c.OntheAdminPasswordwindow,enterapasswordfortheAdministratoruser(admin).
d.Repeatthepassword,andthenclickNext.
e.ClickNextthroughtheremainingwindowsinthesetupwizard.
f.ClickFinishtocompletetheinstallation.

TocompletetheAdvancedsetupwizard,selectAdvancedandthenclickNext.

Forexample,thedefaultis127.0.0.1.
TheURLhttp://127.0.0.1:8080/share(http://127.0.0.1:8080/share)isbasedonthewebserver
domainandtheTomcatportnumberthatyouspecifyontheTomcatPortConfigurationwindow.The
defaultof127.0.0.1canbeusedonthismachinetoverifythatAlfrescoisrunningsuccessfully.However,
itisnotanexternallyaddressableURL,whichmeansthatitisnotpossibleforusersonothermachines
toaccessthisURL.TomakesurethatotheruserscanaccessthemachinewhereAlfrescoisinstalled,
youneedtodefineandcreateapubliclyaddressablename.
b.EntertheportnumberfortheTomcatwebapplication.
Forexample,thedefaultis8080.
c.EntertheTomcatShutdownportnumber.
Forexample,thedefaultis8005.
d.EntertheTomcatSSLportnumber.
Forexample,thedefaultis8443.
e.EntertheTomcatAJPPortnumber.
Forexample,thedefaultis8009.
11.OntheAlfrescoFTPPortwindow,enteraportnumberfortheAlfrescoFTPserver,andthenclickNext.
12.(Optional)IfyouareinstallingtheLibreOfficecomponent,theLibreOfficeServerPortwindowdisplays.Enter
aportnumberonwhichtheLibreOfficeserverwilllisten.
13.OntheAlfrescoRMIPortwindow,enteraportnumberfortheRMIservice,andthenclickNext.
14.OntheAdminPasswordwindow,enterapassword.Repeatthepassword,andthenclickNext.
ThissetsthepasswordfortheAlfrescoAdministratoruseraccount(admin).

17.OntheReadytoInstallwindow,clickNext.
TheInstallingwindowdisplays,showingtheprogressoftheinstallation.
18.OntheCompletingtheAlfrescoOneSetupWizardwindow,clickFinish.
ThiswindowshowscheckboxesthatdeterminewhetheryouwillseetheReadmefile,theGettingStarted
(http://www.alfresco.com/resources/documentation/gettingstarted/)webpage,andalsowhetherto
launchAlfrescoOne.Bydefault,theseoptionsareselectedandwilllaunchwhenyouclickFinish.Ifyoudo
