City of Troy
MEMORANDUM
TO:
FROM:
DATE:
August12,2016
SUBJECT:
f~
RECOMMENDATION:
That Council approves the updated 2016 Emergency Operation Plan (EOP).
BACKGROUND:
The City of Troy EOP is routinely updated to note changes in the City organization as well as any mandated
Federal or State revisions . This cycle is based upon the Federal Government preparedness objectives, and is on
an approximate two-year cycle. Over the past several months Chief Simmons, Assistant Chief Krites, Captain
Long , Captain McKinney, Jillian Rhoades, and Stan Kegley have been involved in the review and proposed
revisions to the EOP. The basic document is unchanged from the previously approved plan. Changes primarily
reflect today's staffing and any modifications if required per Federal and State guidelines. Nearly all the updating is
related to names/titles/contact information for City staff, agencies involved in implementing the EOP, elected
officials, media contacts, and vendors/ contractors/other contacts identified in the plan;
The procedure is that Council approves the EOP and any updates.
REQUESTED ACTION
It would be appreciated if you would assign to a Committee of Council consideration of recommending approval of
the revised Emergency Operations Plan .
