1 Grade Homework
Your child will be assigned homework beginning the second week of
school. Homework for the week will be placed in the homework folders on
Monday. Students will have homework, Monday through Thursday.
Homework is a reinforcement of what we are doing in class. It is
important to read over the directions to get your child started and review
it for accuracy when he/she is finished. It is your childs responsibility to
bring his/her homework folder to school each day. See directions below:

Literacy:
Day 1:
o Have your child read aloud the Letterland words (tricky words,
list A, review words) and sentences twice.
o Read the passage and answer the questions.
Day 2:
o Choose an activity from the word study choice board. Complete
the activity using the List A words and/or Tricky Words.
Day 3:
o Choose an activity from the word study choice board.
Complete the activity using the List A words and/or Tricky
Words.
Day 4:
o Word Study Choice Board: Practice Spelling Test

Reading Log:
Your child needs to read (or be read to) 10-20 minutes each night.
Only record one book each night on the reading log.

Math:
Complete one column per night. If there is not room in the box to
show work, have your child flip to the back and finish showing
his/her work.
