Standard 1. Instructional Planning and Delivery: teacher develops a well
thought out road map of how to teach the lesson, keeping in mind the students prior knowledge. Standard 2. Knowledge of Students and Student Learning: Focusing on each individual students needs, the teacher will work to help each student achieve higher levels of learning. This will require the teacher to pay attention to the students and make changes to their teaching style as needed. Standard 3. Content Knowledge and Expertise: The teacher displays a great understanding of the content and by doing so is able to align objectives with state standards with ease. Standard 4. Learning Environment: The teacher provides a safe and supportive learning environment with clear expectations and routines posted. Standard 5. Data-Driven Practice: The teacher will use different types of formative and summative assessment to gauge the students comprehension and retention of subject matter. Based on these assessments the teacher will address any changes that may need to be made. Standard 6. Professional Practices and Responsibilities: The teacher will hold themselves to a higher standard, ever pursing new and better ways to deliver lessons for benefit of the student.
