Generates Trip Commands (per zone) for the

following protection functions:

External Trip.

Busbar Protection (The Faulty Prot. Zone)

Building up a Replica

Using the topological method:

ABB Switzerland Ltd - 5

2009-04-09

Starting at a busbar, all electrical connections

are checked, and a protection zone is build,
whereby a protection zone is demarcated by :
 A Breaker/CT combination.
 A Coupler Breaker.
 A CT/Feeder combination.
 A Feeder.
This procedure is repeated until all busbars
are assigned.

End-Fault:

ABB Switzerland Ltd - 56

2009-04-09

After a breaker has the trip failed executing command, the

BFP will initiate an intertrip to the associated protection
zone.
A trip command initiated by the intertrip will start the BFP
function.
A fault between an open Breaker and a CT initiates an
intertrip to the associated protection zone.
