My name is Allison Heath and I will be your childs Algebra 1 teacher. I am very excited to have them in my
class! This year, I will also be teaching Geometry. I grew up in RISD and am excited to teach in this district, and
especially at RHS. I graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary
Education and a Mathematics Major.
I expect all students to participate in class and work hard on everything we do. Mathematics builds on skills
every day, and students need to be practicing these skills to become better at them. Algebra 1 is designed to
develop the set of real numbers as a mathematical system, to apply mathematical concepts and techniques,
and to develop facility in the application of algebraic concepts and skills essential to the study of higher
mathematics.
On the attached syllabus, you can find the supplies your child will need to succeed, my expectations for class,
homework policies, make up work, grading criteria, and my contact information.
