Describe the task *
In detail, what was the aim of the task? How many teams? What was the team dynamic?
Timings? Rules & restrictions?
The aim of the task was to go canyoning. When doing canyoning there was no teams. There
were rules and restrictions. The rules and restrictions were that the people behind the leader
could not go in front of the leader. Canyoning was walking over rocks. Sometimes we

walked over rocks that was slippery.


What was your role in the team? *
What did you do? How did you contribute? Leader or teamworker?
I went canyoning. I contributed by being a team worker. When doing this I listened to what
the leader was saying and followed the leaders instruction.
How did you perform as an individual? *
For the M & D criteria make comparisons with other individual performances in your team
and relate to theory.
As an individual I thought that I performed ok when canyoning because there was no teams
but there was a leader at some point during the whole time when canyoning.
How did you perform as a team? *
For the M & D criteria make comparisons with other team performances and relate to theory.
There was no other team. There were some team leaders but there were no teams. As a
team I thought that when doing canyoning there was teamwork and at different points when
doing canyoning there was a leader.
What were your strengths? *
Communication, problem solving, time management, supporting others, physical abilities,
confidence, motivation, resolving conflict, praise, questioning, body language, listening,
awareness, creativity etc

My strength was listening. I was aware of my surroundings and what was happening.
What were your weaknesses? *
Communication, problem solving, time management, supporting others, physical abilities,
confidence, motivation, resolving conflict, praise, questioning, body language, listening,
awareness, creativity etc

My weakness was communication and motivation because I did not talk to other people
and not try to motivate others.
How could you improve for next time? *
Make future recommendations for yourself, your team and other individuals / teams.
Next time I need to try and motivate others and try to communicate more with others.
Was there any conflict in the group? *
If yes, describe why and how was it resolved? If no, what did the leader do to ensure this
was the case?
There was no conflict in the group because everyone followed the rules and regulations.
Before we went canyoning the leader gave everyone instructions and what to do.

How else could you use relevant theory to analyse the overall performance today? *
Leadership styles, Belbin, Tuckman, Adair, Honey, Margerison & Mccann, Woodcock,

There was some people who were team workers and some were leaders. Some of the
leadership styles are from Belbins theory.
