Grading Policy
Homework is assigned daily and is due at the beginning of class, unless otherwise noted. Showing work
on homework is important. When steps are required to solve a problem, they must be shown to receive
full credit. Late homework must be turned in before the test on that unit. Otherwise it will not be
accepted. Late homework is penalized 10 points per class day. Homework is randomly graded on
completion, accuracy or not at all. There will be periodic Notebook Checks, checking for notes,
homework, etc.
Quizzes will be either announced or unannounced. If you are absent for a quiz, it is your responsibility to
make up the quiz before/after school or at lunch before the given deadline. A grade of zero will be
recorded for a missing quiz grade. Your quizzes are 20% of your grade so please take them seriously.
Tests will be given 2 or 3 times during the six weeks. If you are absent for a test, it is your responsibility
to make up the quiz before/after school or at lunch before the given deadline. Your tests are 50% of your
grade so please take them seriously.
** No extra time will be given on quizzes and tests with the exception of students with special needs as
stated in their accommodations.
