Ancient Rome: Legions of Conquest

Rome, in the early years has a system of government of a

Democratic Republic. They benefited most from the advance culture of
the Greeks when they conquered them, exploiting their nations
glorious contribution. They translated the Greeks literature into Latin.
And they pretty much adopted the Greek art, philosophy and religion.
In this time the Roman State had grown exponentially in both
size and power seizing its neighboring places. Roman citizens are in
the army of the military. Over hundreds of years, it was of prized
service to the Romans to be part of the military. Despite the lack of
professionalism in the fighting department, they still were the best of
the accomplished militaries the world has ever seen.
The Gauls had canned and scorched Rome. However the Romans
had not relented and rebounded. The Romans soldiers had become the
wardens of the city and their fighting strategy was defense. They
gained control of the Italian Peninsula. Their military had fought a chain
of wars known as the Punic Wars with Carthage, a powerful city-state in
Northern Africa. After the bloody encounter, Rome ended up having
full-on control of Sicily, the Western Mediterranean and most of Spain.
Despite all the glory, the Romans also experience downfalls. The
eternal states subjugation led directly to its growth in culture and as a
society.
The Roman soldiers was deemed the most successful warriors in
the history. City after city, state after state, nation after nation they
had seized and dominated. Their ascendency and control of a large
amount of land in and around its territory had made Rome the greatest
empire the world had ever known. In their vicious clench, they seized a
colossal breadth unruffled with their incessant triumph.
