Ga.in 2008.

Legends of the Game

Coach Pete Aycock
Coach and administrator of many years in both Mississippi and George for over 40 years. Has led two high school teams (
Monticello, Mississippi. and Appling County, Ga. ) to two state titles and 8 region championships overall. Sent over 20 players to
division one programs while coaching at these two schools and several private schools. With over 480 wins, Pete also coached
Draughons Jr. College, in Savannah, to a state title, and then started the program at Bible Baptist Academy in Savannah.
Then he moved to Decatur, Georgia and started the basketball program at Harvester Academy in 1989. Here he coached the
high school team for four seasons, with two region titles, and then was asked to head up the high school administration, where
he served as principal for some ten years. Presently is retired from education in Sandersville, Ga. , where he pastors a small
church in Davisboro, Ga..

Coach A.C. McCullers

A.C McCullers has meant so much for womens basketball in the state of Georgia and especially in Clayton
County. Currently he is the head varsity girls basketball coach at Strong Rock Christian Academy. He spend
four years at Northwest Whitfield and 25 years at Morrow high school. At Northwest Whitfield, he won two
region titles and posted a four year record of 113-8. But McCullers achieved his greatest success at Morrow
high school where he guided the Lady Mustangs to four state titles. Morrow was especially dominant from

1989-91 when the Lady Mustangs won three state championships, with the pinnacle coming in '91,
when they went 30-0. Morrow also won state in 1993 and was runner-up in 1996. McCullers left
Morrow after the 1998-99 season and racked up 648 wins to make him the third-winningest girls high

school basketball coach in the state. In addition to holding many state records "A.C. did for girls
basketball what (former Riverdale and College Park head coach) Ken Ross did for boys' basketball -he caused other teams and coaches to get better to compete with him," Clayton County athletic
director Bob Brannon said. A.C. McCullers is by far the winningest girls' basketball coach in Clayton
County with 535 victories at Morrow.

Coach Pete Herrmann

Pete Herrmann is the head basketball coach at Young Harris College and formerly served as the interim men's
basketball coach at the University of Georgia. He previously served as head coach at the United States Naval
Academy for former NBA All-Star and Olympian David Robinson. Herrmann and his wife, Sharon, reside in Young
Harris, Georgia. He took over the UGA men's basketball team following the firing of Dennis Felton.

Coach Gene Durden

Coach Durden is entering his eleventh year as head girl's coach of the Lady Wolves. He is originally from Midville, GA and
played basketball at Coastal Community College in Brunswick, GA., where he received an Associate Degree in Business.
He then attended Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in
Business Education. He teaches Personal Fitness classes at Buford High School. Overall, Coach Durden is in his 28th
season as a head coach. Buford won its first AA State Championship in Durden's fourth year of taking over the program.
The 2009 team had a 32 1 record and set the stage for the years to come. Durden's 21st coaching season also brought
in another milestone in his coaching career when he accomplished winning over 500 career wins during the 2008/2009
season. Earlier this year, Durden surpassed 700 wins in his career and is one of the few active coaches in Georgia to
achieve this milestone. During the ten years at the helm of the Buford basketball program, Durden has guided the Lady
Wolves to 4 state championships.

Coach Matthew Kramer

Coach Matthew Kramer was hired two years to lead one of the top public high school basketball programs in the nation
Milton high school. Coach Kramer has been in the coaching profession for 24 years and the teaching profession for 20
years also teaching sophomore English at Milton High School. Coach Kramer spent the fondest 8 years of his career
building the Fairless Boys Basketball Program into THE TOP DIVISION II Program in Stark County (Canton, Ohio area)
and a "Sweet 16" team in 2007, while thoroughly enjoying my time in the classroom and working as the head of the
school's English department. Last years Milton team reach the GHSA 6A Final four before losing to State Champion
Pebblebrook high school.

Lavon Mercer
Attended Metter High School in Metter, Georgia and graduated in 1976. Mercer, in only two varsity seasons, led his team to a
56-6 overall record, one Region title and a state final four appearance. The state tournament and region title, was the first in
Metter history. HIs record setting totals, in rebounding and shot blocking are still, to this day, state and national records. He is
the only player in Georgia high school basketball to grab 40 or more rebounds in a single game, and he did it three times. He
also was a tremendous shot blocker, and never fouled out of a high school or college game. His one game totals 42 rebounds of
26 blocked shots is still a national record. Signing with UGA, Mercer played two seasons under John Guthrie and then his final
two under Hugh Durham, where he was named All-Sec and honorable mention All-American. Drafted by the Spurs, his knees
got worse and worse, with arthritis, so the Spurs sent him to Europe to rehab his knees, and he never returned. He played
several seasons in Italy and then 12 seasons with Tel Aviv Macabi.

Coach Calvin Sinkfield (Southern Crescent Technical College)

Calvin Sinkfield enters his fourth season as the head coach of the Southern Crescent Technical College
Tigers mens basketball program after spend the first two seasons as the Head Womens Coach. In the
past three years under Sinkfield the mens basketball program has improved the competitiveness in
the mens program. With the first of two players being selected to the National Junior College Athletic
Association (NJCAA) All American team (3rd team and Honorable mention in 2014), 7 players to the
Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) Region XVII All conference team with one 2015 GCAA
Region XVII MVP. In the last year Sinkfield has had his first player sign with Hiwassee College, a four
year NCCAA (National Collegiate Christian Athletic Association) institution.
