Description.
Ireland has changed in the last years; actually, people have some traditions and
very ancient customs that are important in the influence of different aspects, such us,
social, economic and others.
But, something important in the Irish population is the baptism; many of the
traditions concerning baptism are kept alive in this country.
When a person is in the Christianity religion, everybody are baptized with holy water.
Therere a number of different traditions and customs of baptism around the world,
this ritual is a representative symbol.
Comparison.
On this day, people or the baby receive a metal cross, also at the ceremony are
accompanied by his godfather and godmother. They make a prayer to the child, the child wear
a white dress or a pure Irish team will be placed.
The dress is designed with special fabrics; godmother will put a white coat after the
ceremony. However, the godfather will have a candle of the same color of the coat, with lights
as a symbol of peace. Also , this is delivered by the developed at the time of the ceremony ,
before parents to attend compulsory training ceremony. In the province of Manab in Ecuador,
many requirements are needed, such as the birth documents. Something very important is that
baptism are performed from one month old to five years eleven months old, while in
Ireland there arent many limits.
The Godfather and godmother must be over 16 years , being married in the catholic
church , must be chosen to be baptized by their parents, while receiving first communion and
confirmation , and specially dont godmother and godfather in others religions.
Reflection.
The Irish are known for being it is important to know about the customs and
traditions of different places. I considerate, that the traditions that each place has, are
important for the people who are living there, they respect their customs. I learn that
the baptism of the Ireland and Manab are similar because represents one of the ideal
ways in which a person or a baby can get to Christ and becomes his true follower.
