It is proposed to improve the theory knowledge as well as the clinical training.

This may be done by inviting senior specialists from Sri Lanka to lecture.

Work expected of the Lecturers

A syllabus, covering the gaps in Tianjin lectures with regard to Srilankan situation, would be
drawn up for each of the above subject. Lecturers would be expected to cover this syllabus
within the time allocated. At the end of each course of lectures, the lecturer has to conduct an
MCQ exam with 60 questions on the subjects covered. The results of the exam will help the
students to identify their weak areas and will also help the Professors in Tianjin to effect any
changes, if necessary, to their training programme.

Lanka) http://www.lankahospitals.org where Surgery, Pediatrics, General Medicine training
could be arranged.
Obstetrics and Gynecology may be done at Ninewells Care Mother & Baby Hospital (Pvt) Ltd.
http://www.ninewellshospital.com/ I have spoken to the Director of the Hospital and he is quite
happy to have the programme in his hospital.

My Offer

I am very much impressed by the Tianjin Medical University staff and students. I have also taken
a special liking to The Peoples Republic of China.I am happy to offer the following services.

1. Therapeutics (Clinical Management of specific diseases)

This is a special subject done to 4th year students in Sri Lankan Medical schools. I
understand that this is not done separately in Tianjin Medical University. This may place
Tianjin students in some disadvantage when they return to Sri Lanka.
I have done these lectures for over 10- years in Colombo and Jaffna medical schools and
presently doing at Batticaloa medical schools. I would be happy to do this for Tianjin
students.

2. Medicine
I would be happy to do supplementary theory( in Tianjin) and clinical training(in Srilanka ) in
Medicine.
