Welcome Back to School!!

From Administration
Welcome back from what I hope was a fantastic summer, filled with a mix
of relaxation and adventure and lots of time with family and friends. As
you may have heard, it looks like we will not have to share our school to
start up the year as Auburn Bay is scheduled to open on time. Our school
is looking fabulous thanks to the hard work of our facility operator, Mr.
Bert Zhai. Staff are feeling rejuvenated and excited about the school year
ahead. We can hardly wait until students arrive next week!

I have enclosed some information to make your first day at school a
success. Please do not hesitate to contact Admin Assistant Pat Summerton
(pysummerton@cbe.ab.ca ) or myself, Kim Manser (kdmanser@cbe.ab.ca )
if you have any questions. The office will be open beginning Aug 29th from
9:00 3:00. We are also available by phone or email.

Classroom Teacher
At Sibbald we know that finding out who your new teacher is going to be is
an important part of the excitement of coming back to school, and we
wanted to share this information with you in advance of your return. You
will receive an email by Friday morning indicating who your childs teacher
will be.

First day of school Sept. 6
All teachers will be outside at 8:05 am to welcome families. Please make
your way to your childs entrance door where teachers will be there to
greet you. Students in Kindergarten, and Grade 3/4 will use the doors on
the back of the school (west side). Students in Grade 1/2 will use the
entrance doors on the east side. Once the bell rings at 8:20 am students
will enter the school with their teachers. Students can be picked up from
their designated doors at 2:52 pm.

Kindergarten Staggered Entry
There is a staggered entry for Kindergarten students on the first day of
school. Students will either attend school from 8:20 9:35 or from 9:50
11:12 the first day only. After that they will resume their regular hours.

An email will be sent home later this week reminding Kindergarten

families of their scheduled staggered entry times.

Online Agendas - Blogs and Twitter
Teachers and students will be using electronic agendas (also referred to as
classroom blogs) as one way of communicating with parents. Twitter will
also be used to enhance communication. These can be accessed soon on
our school website. More information about this will be sent home from
your childs teacher.
I will also be using an agenda blogs to post updates from admin. My
updates will include school celebrations and information regarding
upcoming events.
