Fields oF application
BituBoARD has been designed for use as a
permanentprotectiontomostwaterproofingand
damp proofing systems, especially the bitumen
based sheet membrane and coating systems
indicatedinBS8102.BituBoARD willabsorbthe
impactofaggregateshock,normalsitefoottraffic
and protect the waterproofing membrane from
penetrationbythesharpedgesofreinforcedsteel
andaggregateduringthebackfillprocessandlate
settlement.

whentheambienttemperatureisbetween5Cand
55C and should avoided in case of extreme
weatherconditionssuchassandstorms,rain,etc.
BituBoARD canbefixedontopofthewaterproofing
membranebyusingadoublesidedadhesivetape
(BitutApE tS)*orevenbytorching(forfixingover
torchappliedmembranes).oncetheprotection
boardisfixedinplace,supports/propshavetobe
usedtokeeptheboardsinplacetilltheadhesive
isstrongenoughtoholdtheboard.Subsequent
boardsshallbelaidcontinuouslybybuttfittingthe
edges.Forirregularprofiles,theboardshallbecut
to fit all intersections and protrusions.the butt
jointscanbesealedwith50mmHDpEbitumen
adhesive strip to prevent any backfill material
enteringandcausingdamagetotheunderlying
waterproofingmembrane.

foreasyhandling.thepalletsshouldbeloadedor
offloaded with the help of a crane or forklift to
preventdamagetotheprotectionboards.ifthe
boards are unloaded individually, it is to be
ensuredthattheyarestackedbackonapalletor
onaflatsurface.

BituBoARD shouldbecoveredandstoredinadry
and shaded area away from sunlight, uV and
sourcesofheat.Donotstackonepalletontopof
theother.itisrecommendednottoopentheshrink
wraptillthetimeofapplication.theboards,loose
oronpallets,mustbestoredonflatsurface.the
shelf life is 24 months when stored as per the

recommendations.Excessiveexposuretosunlight
anduVwillresultinthedeteriorationofthequality
oftheproductandreduceitsshelflife.
