Transport Role A Simple Guide

How to transport rle simply at SAP

In case : there are 3 sytems runs, DEV (development system) , QAS (Quality
System) dan PRD ( Production )
1. Tcode PFCG, in this case, you have created role use PFCG Tcode, after you
created in PFCG Screen, choose Role-> Transport

Then
2. New screen appear, in this screen you can look ( e.g Z_LATIHAN ) sample
role will be transported to QAS/PRD. At this time ,This step will generate
Profiles for single roles, it means this program will do user comparison in
same time ( You can use tcode SUPC for user comparison / you can enter role
what you have created and user comparison).

3. Will appear warning window, it means to comparing user. I think you just
click Next

This message has means, you can enter with tcode PFCG after you have
transported all role or after you transported , run this report
PFCG_TIME_DEPENDENCY.

4. After you click OK, new confirmation window , there are 2 choices
personalization or user customization. I try to choose Personalization .

So, is it different ? yes, I think if we choose user assignment to many steps

that we have to follow, like you have configure CUA ( Central User
Administration) .. for me I havent tried it before.
You can prevent person/user ( Lock Role ) to change role that has been
transported with change contents of record at USER_REL_IMPORT field by
value no with tcode SM30 in PRGN_CUST table

5. Then you will be guided for creating request

You can save, but you have to fill all field requirement like Short
Decsription, Target .
Next

6. Then you make new request if you want make it request personaly
( only this transport role transport )

Click OK.
7. Next, you wil be guided to Summary of transport rolde

Next Click OK
8. Next, wil be appeard list all steps above

And you can find status for your transport with Transported . but this is
not end , still more steps

9. enter tcode SE10 (transport ), Enter your username for releasing

request number for transporting your role that have you done.

Click display, Tick modifiable and released ( optional)

10.Then you can see, your transport has been entered with your
username.

SMNK900044 is called Request Number ( that will be transported and known

by sistem )
SMNK900045 is called Customizong/Changing Number.
And those request number still Modifiable status, you must release it.

Make sure your cusror aboive at SMNK900044 ( your request number ), and
not at SMNK900045
After that you can click button at menu with truck picture to direct released.
11.Always refresh, to know last status.

12.If you found, this status and log, so the transport sucessfully

13. So, your request number has been released.

You can see after and before different at status transport.

14. enter Tcode STMS at QAS / target systems , Then press F5 for viewing
List all request number.

Enter your target system

15.Your transport appeared in QAS

16.Move your cursor above your request number properly and press truck
picture

17.Done.
