Appendix N Construction of Airport Buildings and Structures

Under General Section N101.1 of the 2003 Denver Amendments, designation between
related and unrelated buildings associated with the Airport shall be identified as listed
below. Appendix N of Denver Building Code Amendments to the International Building
Code shall apply to the related airport buildings and structures. All unrelated
structures shall be comply with Denver Building Code.
Related Structures:
Passenger Terminal Buildings and buildings connected to the passenger terminal
buildings
Concourses
Freight Terminal Buildings
Satellite Passenger Walkways
Airport Loading Bridges
Airport Ramps
Toll Booths
Hangars
Examples of Unrelated Structures:
These structures are not connected to any of the related structure categories
Car Rental facilities
Car Storage Structures
Hotels and motels
Denver Amendments Appendix Section N110.5 to IBC has been the source for writing
this clarification.
Section N110.5 Raceways. This section shall not apply to unrelated structures.
Electrical work in unrelated structures shall comply with the NEC.
