What to Wear


Please wear comfortable clothing. Jeans are not particularly great
for riding in.
If you have jodhpurs, please wear them. Alternatively track pants and leggings
are always a comfy option.
Make sure you have warm clothing with you should it get cold and wet weather
gear should it rain.
It is best to ride in Jodhpur boots or gumboots with a small heel and flat sole.
We have riding helmets however you can bring your own if you have one.

Morning Tea and Lunch

Please bring a packed lunch, snacks and a drink with you.

Arrival and Departure

We are unable to supervise children for extended periods. Please

try not to arrive more than 15 minutes before your lesson starts and try to
arrive for pick-up within 10 minutes of a lessons finish time. It is unsafe for
children to be unsupervised on a farm and instructors may not be ready for
them any earlier.

Cancellations

If we deem the weather is unsuitable for riding, e.g. heavy
showers and strong winds, we will cancel your lesson. In such situations, you
will be contacted at least an hour before your lesson is due to start. In most
circumstances, we will try to reschedule your lessons.
If you choose to cancel your lesson, we are to receive no less than 48 hours
notice. Any cancellations received between 24 and 48 hours in advance will be
charged at 50% of the rate, and cancellations less than 24 hours in advance (or
no- shows) will be charged the full amount.

Payment

Payment for your course is to be made in advance or at the

beginning of your lesson by cash, cheque or internet banking.
Payments can be made to Clearwater Riding School account
15-3942-0533461-00. Please add your childs name as reference and start date
of their course.

Dates, Times and Type of Lesson

26, 27 September 2016 (2 day course)

Learn how to show jump and and do dressage 10.00am 3.00pm

This course focuses on the principles
plaiting and bandaging your pony for dressage
The dressage alphabet and running through some dressage tests.
Know how to ride an effective show jumping round and jump off.
We will cover walking the course (including striding) and the
general rules for show jumping.
There will also be some general riding instruction. If there are
enough riders, the course may be split by ability.
Ideal for those who can jump small heights (40-60cm)

Introduction to riding morning session 9.00am - 12.00pm

Ideal for those who have little or no experience riding. Learn how to
catch and tack up your pony and some basic horsemanship. We then
make our way into the arena for a riding lesson.
Those 7 years and younger will have their own helper.

For those wanting a bit more than a single day can offer
10.00am 3.00pm
General learn to ride 3 day course course covering the basics of riding
and horsemanship. Learn about care, feeding and grooming of your
pony.
Spend time in our arena learning to ride, with the possibility of some
hacking out on the farm. On the final day, we will have a pony and rider
dress up day, and a horse show.

Gymkhana Lesson 9.00am 3.00pm

Learn some horsemanship, how to plait and get your pony ready for flat
classes. Learn the beginnings of flatwork, showjumping, and games for a
show day. We will end the day with some games and a little competition.
