Call for Applications for the academic year 2016/2017 (last update:

Master in Business Education (WIPD)
The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration calls for applications for our exchange
programs for the Winter Semester 2016/2017.
Please find a table at the end of this Call for Application. The table contains information on the eligible
degree programs and the expected places. We might add additional partner universities. Thus, please
check this Call for Applications on a regular basis.
Fees:
Except for the New School of Social Research our partner universities do not charge tuition fees. The
New School for Social Research charges tuition fees of 1,950.00 US-Dollar per academic credit point.
The workload for one semester amounts to nine credit points.
Funding:
Erasmus+ (exchange with most European partner universities):
The Erasmus+ program provides partial funding. The stipends vary between 150 and 250 Euros per
month depending on the host country. Students who want to study in Switzerland cannot receive
funding via Erasmus+. However, partner universities in Switzerland will provide funding from their own
sources.
World Wide Exchange:
The PROMOS program of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) provides funding.
International students, who are enrolled as regular students in our degree programs, are also eligible
to apply for a DAAD stipend.
Who can apply for our Master exchange programs?
Students of our Master programs in BWL/Management, Business Education, International
Economics and Economic Policy, and Money and Finance are eligible to apply. Students have to
study their third semester, i.e. the Winter Semester 2016/2017 abroad. We will consider
applications from students who want to spent an exchange term abroad at a later stage only in
exceptional cases.
Erasmus+:
Students of our Master programs in BWL/Management, Business Education, International
Economics and Economic Policy, and Money and Finance are eligible to apply.

Application procedure
Language requirements
Please check the appendix Overview on available places and language requirements for the
academic year 2016/2017.

Please submit the following documents:

Application form including a photo.
Letter of motivation in English or German explaining the reasons for study. The letter must only
cover the reasons for applying for an exchange term at the partner university of your first choice.
The letter must not exceed more than 4,500 characters without space characters.
CV in English or German.
Language certificate. Please consult the document titled Overview on available places and
language requirements for the academic year 2016/2017.
Copy of Bachelor`s degree including the transcript of records.
If available: Nachweise soziales Engagement, Arbeitszeugnisse
Study certifcate (Studienbescheinigung) (not Semesterbescheinigung) for the Winter
Semester 2015/16.

How to submit?
Please submit two signed copies of your printed application to the SSIX-Info Center (RuW building,
first floor, room 1.203). The application form including the photo have to be on top of the application
package.

01 February 2016

Please note!
Incomplete or late applications will not be considered! All documents must be typed rather
than written by hand! It is not possible to submit certificates or other documents after the
application deadline unless we ask you to do so!
Selection criteria:
The selection is based on the following criteria:

Grades and duration of studies (main criterion)

Extracurricular activities in terms of social engagement at Goethe University or outside academia.
Please submit a proof of social engagement including the type of activities and the duration.
Overall quality of application and letter of motivation.

Multiple applications (exchange terms of one semester, QTEM):

You can apply apply for both the Erasmus+/Worldwide exchange and QTEM. You only have to submit
one application for the Erasmus+/Worldwide exchange. You can put up to four partner universities on
the application form. You have to submit a separate application for the QTEM program.

Appendix: Overview on available places and language requirements for the academic year 2016/2017.
Please note: The table provides an overview on the language requirements. The standards language of instruction is English. Students need to
submit a TOEFL or IELTS. Most universities also accept B2 or C1 certificates. Please consult the course catalogues of the partner universities in
order to check which courses are offered in English. In some cases the number of courses offered in English might be limited. If you want to take
courses in the local languages we need a proof of competency in the respective language. Therefore, the column B2 might include the required
level in the local language. If the columns B2 does not specify the local language, it only refers to the English requirements. The other columns
(TOEFL, IELTS, CAE/CPE) only refer to the English requirements. You only need to provide one language proof (English or local language).
