Beachgoers, vacationers and Shore locals should

prepare for major flooding, tropical-storm-force
winds and several inches of rain as Hermine makes
its way to the coast.
Local officials especially from coastal towns
started preparing for the storm Thursday and Friday,
and have been urging residents to be ready. Coastal
New Jersey counties have been under a tropical
storm warning since late Friday, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly. Included in
the warning are Monmouth, Ocean, eastern Burlington, Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, and Salem
counties.
The tropical storm, which was briefly a hurricane
as it approached Florida from the Gulf of Mexico on

sentence, Erica Kotelnickis attorney thanked the officers on her behalf for arresting her on heroin

Judge Wendel E. Daniels sentenced Kotelnicki to

at least 60 days in jail on Friday, after she pleaded
guilty to possession of heroin with intent to distribute. Her full sentence is 180 days in jail and two years
of probation. Goldman explained that she was applying to the states Day Reporting Program, which allows inmates to live on their own for most of the week
and do work details on weekends.
That may play havoc with her new job. The 35See SENTENCE, Page 9A
