Our chapter has been asked to
co-host the Annual Conference
that will take place in Long Beach
in the summer of 2017. We will be
teaming up with the So Cal
chapter to aid in the planning and
support of the conference.
While that seems a long way
off, there is a lot of planning
that has to be done far in
advance of the event.
To start with, we will
need five committee
chairs to co-chair with So
Cal on the following committees:
Hospitality
Sessions
Entertainment
Tours
Information/Publicity
In addition, we will need
quite a few members to
serve as session monitors
during the event.
The only criteria for
serving is that you should
not be on the board for
the chapter for the 20162017 year so that your
duties do not take away
from the operation of the

A profitable and stable service, maintenance, construction and engineering air conditioning and refrigeration firm
with corporate headquarters located in Brea, CA is seeking a candidate for the new position of HVAC Project
Engineer. The company has a 40 year history of positive growth with a reputation for servicing, designing and
building quality projects on time and under budget. We offer a competitive salary with medical, dental and
matching 401K plan.
Scope of Work: Provide engineered sales proposals for heating, ventilating, air conditioning capital construction
projects based on customers HVAC needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary duties include engineered sales for new install and replacement HVAC projects to industrial and
commercial clients.
Able to perform job walks to gather information necessary to estimate and to write an engineered HVAC
solution proposal to client.
Able to obtain equipment and material pricing from vendors necessary for estimating competitively.
Prior estimating and bidding experience with HVAC projects and/or HVAC sales.
Proficient with Microsoft office for writing proposals and bids.
Able to communicate and present HVAC proposals to clients.
Post sales duties include the ability to manage the projects from start to finish with the help of the construction
Project Manager.
Execute independent subcontractor and major equipment purchase orders.
Estimate and execute construction change orders for additional work as needed.
Work with in house Professional Engineer in selection of equipment, duct and pipe sizing for estimating, detail
design engineering of commercial and industrial HVAC system involving heat load calculation, and preparation
of drawing and specifications.
Knowledge of HVAC controls.
Experience with obtaining mechanical permits and responding to plan check corrections as needed.
Answer Project RFIs.
Knowledge of building, mechanical, and plumbing codes for HVAC installs.
Knowledge of California Title 24 Energy Codes a plus.
Troubleshoot HVAC design problems as needed.
Interact directly with customer base (consulting engineers, owners, plant managers, general contractors).
Assist with accomplishing department goals as needed.
AutoCAD and HVAC design software knowledge a plus.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 5 years HVAC industry experience.
Engineering degree preferred.
HVAC estimating and construction knowledge with familiarity with building and mechanical codes and
ASHRAE standards.
