Title: Barangay Management Information System: An Information System

for the Barangay Laoag.

ANALYSIS OF CURRENT SYSTEM

1. The residents are still need to go to the barangay hall to get their permit or
look for the barangay Secretary/Treasurer to request their clearance.
2. The records are kept in a traditional way such as using log book/sheet and
sometimes such reservation were not recorded on it, some instance the
requisition forms were misplace or lost, it may causes confusion who will be
using.
3. There are no existing systems like this that the barangay Laoag would work
on.
4. The residents are not updated about their personal information, certificate.
Etc.
5. Time consuming in generating barangay clearance application because it
only uses a word template
OBJECTIVES
1. To develop a Barangay Management Information System for the Barangay
of
Laoag that helps them to have more effective method in delivering
information as well as in keeping useful records and giving good services.
2. To maintain their residents record as complete and up-to-date as possible for
verification and detailed information: View, Search, Add, and Update.
3. Eliminate the manual work to avoid losing some records of the citizens in
barangay Laoag.
4. To minimize the time in writing the record, to eliminate the use of paper.
5. To have the sought after quality of service that is fast and accurate.

Significance of the Study

 Barangay Officials. The Barangay Officials of barangay Laoag will help to

perform their work easily and work their responsibilities very well by using
an automated system
System Administrator. The System Administrator of barangay Laoag will
benefit of this system by easily tracking/searching the records of the
residents and to lessen their paper.
Constituents/Residents. The Constituents/ Residents of barangay Laoag
will benefit by lessen their time and efforts for assistance, this will give them
accessible and satisfy for the processing of their request faster than before.
Researchers. The study will also benefit the future researchers who will
have the same line of interest as this material could be used in conducting
further study.
