Correlation

A correlation study is a scientific study in

which a researcher investigates
associations between variables.
A correlation study is used when you
want to take a look at variables and see
if they have any relationship.
A correlation between two variables does
not imply causation.
An example would be to administer a
questionnaire to a bunch of people and
see if any two variables correlate, such
as weight, amount of sleep and mood,
etc.
Correlation is a mutual relation between
two things and variables

causal
Research that attempts to reveal a
causal relationship between variables. (A
produces B or causes B to occur).
Casual studies are used to test a
hypothesis in a market situation to
better understand cause and effect
relationships.
if there is a causal relationship between
two variables, they must be correlated.
An example would be a clothing
company currently sells blue denim
jeans; causal research can measure the
impact of the company changing the
product design to the color white.
