HISTORY
Marinduque is an ideal place for beach lovers. The island is dotted with
white sand beaches and relaxing islets which are perfect for water
recreational activities such as windsurfing, diving and snorkeling. Poctoy
White Beach is 1 kilometer long with the fine white sands, which is probably
one of the best beaches in Marinduque. It is located at Torrijos, about 50
minutes of drive from Boac and has an outstanding view of Mt. Malindig,
coral reefs and clear water that is an ideal spot for the long line of eateries
at the beach where you can have lots of food at very affordable price.

It offers the cheapest dormitory-type room for backpackers at the
price of P300/pax. It is located in the tows market place. The room is
clean and tidy.
They have 10 ventilated rooms & 8 air-conditioned rooms. Their room
includes TV with Coffee or Tea upon request. They can arrange a van
to pick you up from the port to Pension House and as well as arrange a
day tour to our beautiful island Marinduque
o Tahanan sa Isok

Located about 20 min. from the airport and about 30min. from
Balanacan Port. All of our 15 rooms are air conditioned with private
bathrooms (hot/cold shower) and cable television to make for a
comfortable stay. We have garden to relax in, a swimming pool to
refresh in and a restaurant to indulge in.

TOURIST SPOTS
o Amoingon Beach
Just a few meters away from
the pebble-strewn beach in the
quiet
coastal
barangay
of
Amoingon in Boac are coral
gardens still home to a variety
of tropical fishes, seahorses and
marine mollusks.

o Bagumbungan Cave
This cave in Brgy. San Isidro,
Sta. Cruz Marinduque has been
placed by the DENR under its
list of protected caves to spare
from epoilation. In 2009, this
cave with an underground river
was discovered by a team from
the provincial tourism office and
cave enthusiasts from Santa
Cruz.

o Battle of Pulang Lupa Marker


The shrine of the Batte of
Pulang Lupa is located in Torrijos
Marinduque. In this mountain
peak, the Filipinos won over the
Americans during the war in
September 13, 1900. It is called
Pulang Lupa or Red Soi because
of the bloody fight between the
two forces.

o Bellaroca Island
The Mediterranean architecture
sets it apart from other luxury
resorts.
The
resorts
facility
includes ten private villas, thirty
hotel rooms, food and beverage
outlets and water sports activities
and tours.

o Duyay Cave
The caves are regarded to be
even more enthralling than other
caves. The interior is very huge
and dark, filled with stalactite
formations. Only few visitors have
explored the entire length of caves
and tunnels, which are estimated
to end in Tapuyan, Gasan.

o Marinduque Wild Life Sanctuary


Located on the Western side of
Gasan, Northeast side of Santa
Cruz, Southern side of Buenavista,
Northwest side of Boac and at the
Eastern side of Torrijos. The best
time of the year for bird watching
is from December 1 to May 30.

o Marinduque Malbog Hot Spring


Once upon a time in Manila,
the medicinal water from
Malbog sulphuric springs was
sold in bottles and became a
popular cure for skin ailments.
People of different nationalities
ventured to visit the sulphur
springs site at that time
despite the diffucilties of travel
to the island of Marinduque in
that period.

o Natangco Reefs
Fringing reefs on west side
excellent
for
snorkeling.
Submarine cliffs on southern
side is a haven for scuba
divers. Drift diving is also
possible.

o Paadjao Falls
It is located in Sitio Paadjao,
Barangay Bokbok, Mogpog,
Marinduque. This is a series of
gently cascading falls that
settles into a 1 foot fall. Hunt
for nature-formed bathtubs
downstream
and
enjoy
Jacuzzi-like effect. It is an
ideal place for picnicking or
camping.

o Tarug Cave
It is located in Brgy. Tarug,
Santa Cruz, Marinduque. Three
chambered caves in limestone
formation, it rises steeply to a
little more than 900 feet from
the ground. Pinnacle is barely 3
square meters.

o Tres Reyes Islands


Serving as a favorite haunt
with delightful picnic grounds
and dive spots in Marinduque
are these islets named Gaspar,
Melchor,
and
Baltazar,
collectively known as Treyes
Islands.
