At E.K. Powe, we believe it is important to enrich the learning of all students.

Whether that be through direct instruction provided by an AIG-certified teacher,
partnering with classroom teachers, weekly planning sessions with grade levels
and/or through 1:1 conversations with teachers about ways we can help
differentiate for all students in the classroom, the AIG team is an integral part of
whole school enrichment. We work together with all grade levels to tie learning to
overarching concepts and themes and help them develop hands-on, real-world,
engaging projects that foster 21st century learning.

Our AIG Team consists of AIG certified teachers and AIG committee
members. Currently, the following teachers at Powe are AIG-certified: Hannah
Bohlen, Latisha Johnson, Melissa Smart, Daniel DuLany, Jodi Mills (in progress at
Duke), Brianne Starin & Rachel Vogelpohl, AIG facilitator. The AIG committee is
comprised of a teacher representative from each grade level, administration, the
guidance counselor & the instructional facilitator.

K-5 Services

Mrs. Vogelpohl & Mrs. Starin provide whole-class enrichment for kindergarten
through second grade classes, partner with Mrs. Smart, Mrs. Bohlen & Mr DuLany
to provide services to AIG-identified second & fifth grade students, and work
directly with AIG-identified third and fourth grade students.
