I am doing a short answer and multiple choice assessment.

IMPLEMENTATION
Introduction to Lesson As an introduction, you will always use a Review and Focus. If you

are starting a new unit, simply activate prior knowledge for the
Review.
Ask students a few questions at the beginning of the lesson:

What are the 4 seasons?
Then discuss Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer with the class.

Google Slides
The Seasons of Arnolds Apple Tree, by Gail Gibbons.
o While reading throughout the book stop and discuss each
season.
o Look for examples of each season based on the
illustrations.

After reading book watch YouTube Video Seasons Song Video.

Students begin work on reading, writing, an activity, a project, etc.


with the support of you and other adults who may be in the
environment.

Clothes Activity

Pick a Class Tree activity.

After video give students the handout and let them label each
picture with the correct season.
The tree cut into 4 pieces activity.

Differentiated
Instruction

Low level learners will be expected to write at least 2 tree


observations that they saw during each season.
High level learners will be expected to write at least 5 things that
they saw during the observation.
Visual learners will benefit the most from this activity because they
will visually see seasons changing throughout the year in the
YouTube video.

Closure At the end of the lesson we will get back together as a whole and talk about

what we knew in the beginning of the lesson and about what we know now
after doing all of the activities and watching the video.
Time Allotment 35 minutes per class for one week.
