2MainMenu
There are two types of rights respectively granted to two types of users: the
ordinary users and administrators.Ordinary usersare onlygranted the rights of
facial,fingerprint,passwordorcardverification,whileadministratorsaregranted
the access to the main menu for various operations apart from having all the
privilegesgrantedtoordinaryusers.

Anyusercanaccessthemainmenubypressingthe[Menu]
key if the system is free from administrators. After
administrators are configured on the terminal, the terminal
needs to verify the administrators identity before granting
themaccesstothemainmenu.Toensureterminalsecurity,it
is recommended to set an administrator when using the
terminalinitially.Fordetailedoperations,see3.7.

2 Main Menu

AddUser:Enrollemployeesfingerprint,passwordorfacialinthedevice.
User Mgt.: Through this submenu, you can browse the user information
stored on the terminal, including the user ID, name, fingerprint, facial, card,
password,rightsandgroupNo.add,modifyordeletetheuserinformation.
Comm.: Through this submenu, you can set related parameters for
communicationbetweentheterminalandPC,includingtheIPaddress,gateway,
subnetmask,baudrate,equipmentNo.andcommunicationpassword.
System: Through this submenu, you can set systemrelated parameters,
including the basic parameters, interface parameters, fingerprint, facial and
attendanceparameters,toenabletheterminaltomeetuserrequirementstothe
greatestextentintermsoffunctionsanddisplay.
Data Mgt.: Through this submenu, you can perform management of data
storedontheterminal,forexample,deletingtheattendancerecord,alldataand
promotional pictures, purging management rights and resetting the terminal to
factorydefaults.
Date/Time: The date and time of the terminal must be set accurately to
ensuretheaccuracyofattendancetime.Throughthissubmenu,youcansetthe
date,timeandbell.
Auto Test:This submenu enables the systemto automaticallytest whether
functions of various modules are normal, including the screen, collector, voice,
facial,keyboardandclocktests.
Dn/Upload: Throughthissubmenu,youcanimportuserinformationand
attendancedatastoredinaUSBdisktorelatedsoftwareorotherfingerprint
recognitionequipment.
Sysinfo:Youcancheckthestoragestatusaswellasversioninformationof
the terminalthroughthe[SystemInformation]option.

Password: Enroll a users password. 1to 8digit passwords are supported by
default.

Role:Settherightsofauser.Auserissettoordinaryuserbydefaultand
can also be set to administrator.Ordinary users are onlygranted the rights of
facial, fingerprint or password verification, while administrators are granted the
accesstothemainmenuforvariousoperationsapartfromhavingalltheprivileges
grantedtoordinaryusers.
Photo: Enroll a users photo. During user verification, the users photo is
displayedonscreen.

Youcansetrelatedparametersforthecommunicationbetweenthe terminal
andPC,includingtheIPaddress,gateway,subnetmask,baudrate,equipmentNo.

WhentheterminalcommunicateswiththePCoverEthernet,youneedto

IP Address: The IP address is 192.168.1.201 by default and can be changed as

SubnetMask:Thesubnetmaskis255.255.255.0bydefaultandcanbechangedas
required.
Gateway:Thegatewayis0.0.0.0bydefault.Ifthe terminalandthePCarenot
locatedinthesamenetworksegment,youneedtosetthegateway.

WhentheterminalcommunicateswiththePCoverserialports(RS485),youneed
tocheckthefollowingsettings:

RS485:This parameter is used to enable or disablethe RS485communication. If


theRS485communicationcablesareused,setthisparametertoON.
Baud Rate: This parameter is used to set the baud rate for the communication
between the terminal and the PC. It includes five options: 9600, 19200, 38400,
57600, and 115200. The high baud rate is recommended for the RS232
communication to achieve high communication speed, while the low baud rate is
recommended for the RS485 communication to achieve stable lowspeed
communication.
Device ID: This parameter is used to set the ID of device from 1 to 254. If the
RS232/RS485 communication is adopted,you need to enter the device ID onthe
softwarecommunicationinterface.
CommKey:Toenhancethesecurityofattendancedata,youcansetapasswordfor
the connection between the terminal and PC. Once the password is set, you can
connectthePCwiththeterminaltoaccesstheattendancedataonlyafterentering
the correct password. The default password is 0 (that is, no password). Once a
passwordisset,youneedtoenterthispasswordbeforeconnectingthePCsoftware
withtheterminalotherwise,theconnectionisunsuccessful.1to6digitpasswords
aresupported.

databetweentheterminalandPCovernetworktoenhancethe
transferspeed.

including the basic parameters, interface parameters, fingerprint, facial and

Voice Prompts: This parameter is used to set whether to play voice prompts
duringtheoperationoftheterminal.SelectONtoenablethevoiceprompt,and

Volume(%):Thisparameterisusedtoadjustthevolumeofvoiceprompts.
LockPowerKey:Thisparameterisusedtosetwhethertolockthepowerkey.
SelectONtodisablethepowerkey.IfyouselectOFFandpressthepowerkey,
theterminalwillbeshutdowninthreeseconds.

6.2DisplayParameters

Language:This parameteris used to displaythe currentlanguage used by the


terminal. For multilingualcapable terminals, you can switch between different
languagesthroughthisparameter.
Toolbar:Thisparameterisusedtodisplaystyleoftheshortcutkeysontheinitial
interface.ItcanbesettoAutoHideandPermanentDisplay.ByselectingAuto
Hide, you can manually display or hide the toolbar. By selecting Permanent
Display,youcanpermanentlydisplaythetoolbarontheinitialinterface.
DefaultVerifyMode:Thisparameterisusedtosetthedefaultverificationmode,
thatis,the"Fingerprint"orFaceverificationmode.
PictureDelay(S):Thisparameterisusedtosetthepicturecycleinterval(value
scope:3999seconds).
SleepTime(S):Thisparameterisusedtospecifyaperiodafterwhichtheterminal
isputinsleepmodeifnotoperatedwithinthisperiod.Youcanbringuptheterminal
fromsleepbypressinganykeyortouchingthescreen.

currentfingerprintandthefingerprinttemplateenrolledintheterminalinthe1:1
verificationmode.Ifthesimilaritybetweencurrentfingerprintandthefingerprint
templateenrolledintheterminalislargerthanthisthreshold,thematchingis
successfulotherwise,thematchingisnotsuccessful.
1:NThreshold:Thisparameterisusedtosetthethresholdofmatchingbetween
currentfingerprintandthefingerprinttemplateenrolledintheterminalinthe1:N
verificationmode.Ifthesimilaritybetweencurrentfingerprintandthefingerprint
templateenrolledintheterminalislargerthanthisthreshold,thematchingis
successfulotherwise,thematchingisnotsuccessful.

Algorithm Version: This parameter is used to select the fingerprint algorithm


version between 9.0 and 10.0. Please select the algorithmversion with caution
because the fingerprint templates of these two algorithm versions are
incompatible.
FingerprintImage:Thisparameterisusedtosetwhethertodisplaythefingerprint
imageonthescreenduringfingerprintenrollmentorcomparison.Ithastwovalues:

canquerytheattendancerecordsofalltheemployees.IfyouenterauserID,you
canquerytheattendancerecordoftheemployeewiththisuserID.
QueryTimePeriod:Selectatimeperiodtoquery,includingthecustomizedtime
period, yesterday, this week, last week, this month, last month, and all time
periods.
StartandEnd:When you select a customized time period,you need toinput a
starttimeand anendtime.Whenyouselectotheroptionsfortimeperiod,thestart
andendtimewillbeautomaticallyadjustedtotherelatedtime.
