Kinds of Micrometer Calipers

Outside Micrometer Caliper is used for measuring outside dimensions, such as the
outside diameter of a piece of round stock orthe
thickness of a piece of flat stock.

Screw Thread Micrometer Caliper is used to determine the pitch diameter of screws.

Inside Micrometer Caliper

-is used to measure theinside diameter of a cylinder or hol
e.

Depth Micrometer Caliper is used for measuring the depth of a hole or recess.

Laser Micrometer Caliper - Mainly used in the measuring of

outer diameters of pipes, wires and rods such as communication
cables, plastic wires, electric cables, optic fibers, enameled wires,
aluminum plastic pipes, steel products, fibers; It allows both
method of on-line measuring and method of off-line measuring,
and can conduct automatic feedback control and on-line
communication with computers.
Bench Micrometer Caliper - which are often called dial gauges,
are designed for the measurement of small parts (up to 20 mm).

V-Anvil Micrometer Caliper - Direct reading eliminates use of

special fixtures. It can be used for measuring odd-fluted
taps, milling cutters, reamers etc.
In this micrometer, angle of Vee equals 60 degrees and the apex
of the Vee coincides with
axis of spindle. The zero reading of micrometer starts from a point
where the two sides of Vee meet.
It may now be seen that as the angle of Vee is 60, the
micrometer will measure a distance of 3d/2
for a round piece of diameter d. It is thus simple matter to obtain
the diameter from reading.
Uni-Mike Micrometer Caliper - refer to a type of
micrometer whose frame has modular components, allowing
one micrometer to function as outside mic, depth mic, step mic,
etc.

Tube Micrometer Caliper - used to measure the thickness of

tubes.

Micrometer stops - are essentially inside mics that are mounted

on the table of a manual milling machine or other machine tool, in
place of simple stops. They help the operator to position the table
precisely.

Blade mics - have a matching set of narrow tips (blades). They

allow, for example, the measuring of a narrow o-ring groove.

Pitch-diameter mics - have a matching set of thread-shaped tips

for measuring the pitch diameter of screw threads.

Limit mics - have two anvils and two spindles, and are used like
a snap gauge. The part being checked must pass through the first
gap and must stop at the second gap in order to be within
specification.

Disk Micrometer Caliper - 1. Diameter Of Measuring Disk :

20mm
(30mm : Models Over 100mm)
2. 0.7mm Edge Thickness (1mm : Models Over 100mm)
3. With Ratchet Stop For Constant Force
Pressure Micrometer Caliper - Measuring with a low measuring
force micrometer: Take the measurement when the pointer is
between the 1st and 2nd index lines. The pointer must not pass
the 3rd index line which indicates excessive measuring force.

Multi-Anvil Micrometer Caliper - Provides is a small precision

ground round tip and a flat tip.

Point Micrometer Caliper - The Measuring Points (Carbide

Tipped) Have Approx 0.3mm Radius with Ratchet Stop For
Constant Force

Spline Micrometer Caliper - The Anvil & Spindle Have a Small

Diameter for Measuring Splined Shafts, Slots & Keyways.

Digimatic Micrometer Caliper - Provided With a Origin Set Key

For Easy Origin Setting.Measurement Readout With Large
Characters On The LCD Screen.

Lyman Case Neck Ball Vernier Micrometer Caliper - offers state

of the art precision at an affordable price. This micrometer is able
to measure the thickness of case neck walls to .0001" accuracy.
Micrometer has ratchet stop and spindle lock. This micrometer is
analog and does not have a digital readout. The dimension is read
from the lines on the barrel of the micrometer. There is no window
that shows the dimension reading.
