PREVENA PLUS Incision Management System

The PREVENA PLUS Incision Management System offers clinicians and hospitals versatility, portability and flexibility in
applying negative pressure incision management on linear, non-linear and intersecting incisions up to 90cm in length.
The PREVENA System is the first powered negative pressure product designed specifically for the management of closed
surgical incisions that continue to drain following sutured or stapled closure. It covers and protects the incision from external
contamination, while negative pressure helps hold incision edges together and removes fluid and infectious material from the
surgical site.

Incisions can be complicated and costly

There are 8 million people at risk for healthcare-associated infections (HAI).1 Post-surgical complications lead to significant costs:
SSIs are 21.8% of all healthcare-associated infections2
Infections increase average length of hospital stay to an extra 9.58 days at an additional cost of $38,6563
Other common complications include dehiscence, hematoma and seroma formation4-6

How PREVENA PLUS Incision Management

System can help:
Hold incision edges together
Remove fluids and infectious materials
Act as a barrier to external contamination
Deliver continuous negative pressure at -125mmHg up to 7 days
It is optimized for patient safety with the following features:
Visual and audible alarms
Interface layer contains 0.019% ionic silver that may help reduce bacterial colonization within the interface fabric.
The silver is not intended to treat infection.
Replaceable canister holds exudate away from the incision site
A number of published clinical studies in a variety of surgical incisions and patient populations have demonstrated that the PREVENA
Incision Management System is associated with positive clinical outcomes compared to standard post operative dressings.7
